The new generation of classic hip-hop fans will now get the chance to experience the groovy showmanship of hip-hop’s greatest duo, Eric B. and Rakim. This morning, the legendary golden era collective’s verified Twitter account revealed the duo will go on tour this year, along down the U.S. route. “We #TakingBackTwitter and that’s just the start. When we tweet it’s real news. But rather then 140 characters that lands on every hip hop magazine and website in the world, we gonna SHOW you what we mean. It’s just the beginning. More updates to follow [the leader] #EricBandRakim,” tweets the account. “It’s time to show you. #EricBandRakim.”

Many fans were not feeling very confident about the tour announcement due to the account’s questionable behavior in the past such as endorsing Donald Trump. Titled The Technique Tour, in partnership with Live Nation, the class-act will perform in over 12 cities starting in Boston at House of Blues. Eric B. and a representative for Rakim confirmed the legitimacy of the tour and even revealed more dates will be added to the tour.

Last year, the two took the stage of the Apollo Theater in Harlem to reunite for the 30th anniversary of their debut album Paid In Full, creating instant history the moment of reveal. The Technique Tour will be the first time Eric B. and Rakim have toured together since the early 90s, an approximately 25 year gap.

Surely, this is another case of history in the making being the discussion about an Eric B. and Rakim reunion tour has been common amid hip-hop heads for years now and is finally coming to fruition. The class-act of a duo will perform in their hometown of New York City on April 10 at Irving Plaza. Seek the list of performance dates for The Technique Tour, below.
