Aldon Smith seemed to be getting his life in order last month when he got engaged and was focused on returning to the NFL. Now, Smith’s playing days may be over after he was cut by the Raiders, following another off-the-field incident, according to ESPN. Smith, 28, was allegedly involved in a domestic violence incident involving his fiancee over the weekend in San Francisco.
According to TMZ Sports, Smith fled the scene before cops arrived. Smith’s fiancee tells TMZ that she was the victim, and that Smith has since checked himself into a rehab facility.

Smith, a first-round draft pick by the 49ers in 2011, has not played in the NFL since 2015. The 49ers released him in August 2015 after he was arrested on suspicion of DUI, hit and run, and vandalism. It was Smith’s fourth arrest — and third DUI arrest — in four years.
Smith must focus on getting himself better before attempting any comeback to the NFL.
