Record producer Irv Gotti has signed a worldwide publishing deal with Warner/Chappell Music, effective without delay. The Warner Music publisher will oversee all of Gotti’s current and future material, including the music score he has written for BET drama series, Tales.

Created by Gotti and produced by his company, Visionary Ideas Entertainment, Tales is a drama that entangles hip-hop songs into narrated stories.

Gotti is the producer and founder of Murder Inc. Records and has collaborated with different artists such as Ja Rule, Vanessa Carlton, Jay-Z, Ashanti, Lloyd, and DMX. He was responsible for signing DMX to popular record label, Def Jam Records.

“Irv is an amazing music person and entrepreneur, and the force behind a string of game-changing records”, said Jon Platt, Chairman and CEO of Warner/Chappell. “Irv’s impressive talents have often gone unrecognized, but there is no doubt that he has some of the best ears in the business. Irv and I have been great friends for years, so it’s a thrill to welcome him into the Warner/Chappell family.”

Gotti expressed his appreciation for being a part of the famous label, stating “It’s been a long time coming. I have been great friends with Big Jon since I got into the music biz. So I couldn’t ask for a better partner for this second run I’m about to go on in to the Entertainment Biz (Music, TV and Film)”.
