It’s time to get familiar with one of Sweden’s hottest up and comers this year. The masked rapper Billz also known as Ski Mask Billz caught the people’s attention when he dropped his first video this year “Stick Up Kids” A video that brought mixed feelings to the viewers due the violent scene in the end.
This time he’s back with another one, and ‘’Monifa’’ is the first single of his upcoming tape ‘’No Face No Case’’ which should drop somewhere in spring.
We had the chance to interview the Swedish rapper and talk to him about the music, the ski mask, and future plans.
What do you listen to?
Lately I’ve been listening to a lot of French, German and Dutch hip hop and of course Swedish rap as well. But I grew up listening to 2pac, Big, The Diplomats, all that.
How did you start rapping?
I started rapping and recording for fun in the beginning, talking a lot of shit just so me and my boys could have something to laugh about.
But I got more serious with my career in the late 2016, where I was writing a lot, developing my flow.
Some very important people that play a big part in my career today got to be Kushtrim and my personal producer Naasty, they the reason for the sound and the melodies in my raps.
Why the ski mask?
I’m more of a low key person. I’m just trying to drop good music. Hopefully earn a buck or two and do away with the fame. Especially when the mask is off so I can enjoy my time with my people in peace.
Who do you consider the hottest from Sweden?
Me of course! I think the hottest from Sweden would be my boy Kushtrim, defiantly Mwuana dude is a lyrical genius out here. You got Jireel, that young boy got the game on lock, and can’t forget Gee Dixon, Gee a beast with them hits, but that just my opinion of the hottest out here.
What’s next for Billz?
I’ve just dropped Monifa which is the first single of my tape No Face No Case already working on the video for the next song La Patrona which features my boy Kushtrim and we might even have a Swedish remix coming out soon for Monifa but only time will tell.
