After being named Artistic Director over at Louis Vuitton, Virgil Abloh had a lot of people watching what he would premiere for his first runway under the prestigious fashion house. However, not only did the OFF-WHITE™ head honcho come through with some heat, he also came through with an army full of top tier support from his industry family.

Debuting today as a Spring/Summer 2019 menswear collection during Paris Fashion Week, Virgil’s first step out as a member of the LV team showcased a spectrum — literally when it came to the rainbow-colored runway — of vibrant patterns, experimental cut-and-sew jobs, and even a collaboration with Warner Bros. to celebrate the 80th anniversary of The Wizard of Oz. Attendees who could make it out to the Jardin du Palais-Royal today rubbed shoulders with the industry’s elite names in art (Takashi Murakami), music (Rihanna), social media (Kim Kardashian), and Kanye West, who pretty much represents all those things in one. It was pretty dope to see the embrace he had with Virgil as the designer gave the rudimentary finale walk. It was a moment that represented so much — the rumored beef, the criticism they each face in their respective fields, and, quite honestly, the perfect “N*gga, we made it!” moment.
