Former Seattle Seahawks star Brandon Browner is facing attempted murder charges for allegedly trying to kill his ex-girlfriend.
Browner has been charged with 1 count each of attempted murder, first-degree residential robbery, first-degree burglary and false imprisonment. He also faces two misdemeanor counts of cruelty to a child.
Police say the ex=Seahawks star broke into his former girlfriend’s house last July in La Verne, California. He allegedly chased her, dragged her and smothered her in the carpet. The children of Browner’s ex witnessed the abuse, hence, the child cruelty charge.
Browner’s bail has been set at a steep $10 million. If convicted of each charge, Browner faces a maximum sentence of life in prison.
Browner is a 2012 Pro Bowl cornerback who was part of the original Legion of Boom defense. He also won a Super Bowl with the Seahawks in 2014 and one with the Patriots in 2015.
