Brooklyn rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine has been transferred to Riker’s Island’s Contagious Disease Unit for his safety.
The “Gummo” rapper was sent to the 140-cell portion of the infamous NYC facility, which is mainly used to house inmates fighting illness. It’s also used to house high-profile or celebrity inmates who, for their own safety, can’t be in general population. Ironically, Tekashi falls under that category.
Tekashi, according to reports, is being held in total isolation, which mean no contact with anyone during his stay on the Island, except for correctional officers.
6ix9ine could remain behind bars until his July 20th hearing for the assault at a Houston mall.
