Marvel comics is set to launch a comic book series focusing on Black Panther‘s sister Shuri. months after the character stole the show in Ryan Coogler’s Black Panther movie.

Per Bustle, award-winning author Nnedi Okorafor, the writer of Black Panther: Long Live the King, will pen the spinoff simply titled Shuri. Leonardo Romero will handle the art.

“[Shuri is] an African young woman of genius level intelligence who is obsessed with technology and has traveled spiritually so far into the past that she’s seen Wakanda before it was Wakanda. The Ancestors call her Ancient Future. And she’s super ambitious,” Orkorafor shared.

The story will follow Shuri being forced to lead Wakanda in the absence of her brother T’Challa, who has gone missing during a mission in space. Shuri must leave the comfort of her lab behind and transition into a bigger role as monarch.

The series will fit into the continuity of Ta-Nehisi Coates’ Black Panther ongoing comic, which sees T’Challa explore the Intergalactic Empire of Wakanda in space.

Shuri will launch this year in October.
