Rihanna is currently one of the most influential women of the 21st century as she continues to bust down records. The singer, actress, and beauty tycoon have made history by becoming the first Black woman to grace the cover of British Vogue‘s September issue in the over 100-year entire history of the publication.

“I always knew it had to be Rihanna,” British Vogue editor-in-chief Edward Enninful says about the issue. “A fearless music-industry icon and businesswoman, when it comes to that potent mix of fashion and celebrity, nobody does it quite like her.” Enninful is also the magazine’s first Black editor-in-chief.

September issues are apparently one of the most important in the fashion world, where fashion experts drop the scope on the latest styles to expect in the respective coming season. In this case, autumn 2018. The “lavish” issue will be a 400-paged guide featuring an array of shopping tips to a full-blown lookbook, as the prestigious magazine is renowned for.

The bad gal took to social media on Tuesday to share images from the shoot shot by notable photographer Nick Knight, whom the “Work” star expressed gratitude for her first time working with the creative. The megastar is seen rocking a Prada dress and gloves with a vibrant flower crown accompanied by an unforgettable feature, thin eyebrows-a pending fashion trend.

“September issue @britishvogue . I finally got to work with Nick Knight for the first time! Legend. @edward_enninful get yours on Aug. 3,” Riri tweeted.

Enninful went on to break down his reason behind choosing the Bajan icon for his first issue with British Vogue as editor. “No matter how haute the styling goes, or experimental the mood, you never lose her in the imagery. She is always Rihanna,” he said. “There’s a lesson for us all in that. Whichever way you choose to dress the new season, take a leaf out of her book and be yourself.”

The September issue of British Vogue goes on sale Friday (Aug. 3).
