According to TMZ, the 13-year-old basketball phenom, LeBron James Jr., will attend Crossroads School for his 8th-grade year. The Santa Monica, CA school is a basketball prep powerhouse for young up and coming talent. Some notable alumni include Shaq’s son, Shareef O’Neal and former NBA All-Star, Baron Davis, Damon Wayans Jr, Jonah Hill and more. O’Neal will play for the UCLA Bruins in the fall. Because O’Neal is in the same position as James Jr., he can relate.
“We both kind of have it the same way, being the son of an NBA legend isn’t easy and to get all of this at a young age is a real challenge to adjust to,” said Shareef.
“It’s all a journey, this kid has it all. I’m looking forward to seeing him kill it for the rest of his career.”
Davis is also a UCLA product as well. Let’s see if Bronny James will follow in those same footsteps as both Crossroads alum.
Throughout the summer, James Jr. has emerged as one of the top basketball prospects in the Class of 2023. One of the reasons LeBron James Sr. decided to sign with the Lakes was to put his son in the best position to excel in both academics and basketball. The Los Angeles school system is one of the best when it comes to preparing the best players in the country.
Of course, the spotlight will remain on his father as he helps the Lakers return to playoff contention, but Bronny will garner a lot of attention as well. Watch some of his highlights from this summer below.
