The Atlanta Hawks shipped Carmelo Anthony his official No. 15 jersey on Thursday. He never got to wear the jersey on the court, but according to ESPN’s Rachel Nichols, he wanted one to add to his collection.

LeBron James had fun with Anthony’s tenure with the Hawks after the post:

While the Hawks are indeed paying Anthony $25.5 million to not play for them, they did come through with the jersey Anthony had requested.

Anthony, of course, had to sign off on the deal by waiving his no-trade clause and did so in order to facilitate a buyout with Atlanta, who took on all but $2.4 million of his $27.9 million salary. By securing that buyout, Anthony will now sign with the Houston Rockets once he returns from Africa to join up with his good friend  Chris Paul and try to give the Rockets some added depth on the wing that they desperately need after free agency.
