Nick Cannon guarantees his new show about the Bay Area will be authentic because he has Oakland legends, E-40 and Too Short, on board as producers.
He reveals to TMZ he’s psyched about his forthcoming drama series, The Yay Area, since it will be centered around Northern California’s drug culture, and its association with Silicon Valley, biker gangs, and even the Black Panthers.
Nick is hoping that this show will be a combination of The Wire and The Sopranos. Now that he has Short and 40 included, he supposes things will move rapidly. A few networks are reportedly interested in the series, and he’s even digging into his own pockets to fund efforts.
He intends to begin shooting The Yay Area this Fall. Until then, Nick is so tied up with so many other gigs. He definitely doesn’t get enough sleep.
