If you’ve been living under a rock for the past week or so, allow us to fill you in one something: Childish Gambino just dropped probably the best video of 2018 for his breezy new single “Feels Like Summer,” featuring all of your favorite rappers, singers and entertainers in the current Hip-Hop community. While we can’t speak for everybody — crying Chris Brown and frumpy MAGA-supporting Kanye West may have a few words in response to their animated counterparts — the video was pretty dope in capturing light-hearted, oftentimes funny depictions of Gambino’s contemporaries, predecessors and successors in a way that only he could make come to life. Amongst the animation, the Atlanta star decided to take the moment to reveal something else: his new deal as a Brand Ambassador for adidas Originals.
Created in the style of an epilogue to the original video, the short spot depicts Gambino coming home after walking through his “Hip-Hop ‘hood” to try on a fresh pair of (also animated) kicks, which looks like the adidas Nizza but could be a new collaborative drop in itself. Guess we’ll have to wait and see when his first collection alongside the Three Stripes debuts IRL.
