For several years since the release of the documentary Dirty, which was a low-budget, yet candid view of the life and times of Russell Jones aka Ol’ Dirty Bastard of the legendary Wu-Tang Clan, rumors have swirled around a real silver screen flick about the late, illustrious Wu-Tang swordsman.

Sony’s Colombia Pictures has confirmed that they are still seeking a director to quarterback the film about one of Hip Hop’s most memorable personalities, but it has been greenlighted and RZA will be taking on the production of his cousin’s biopic.

With both top notches acting and directing under his belt including silver screen smashes The Man With The Iron Fists and American Gangster respectively, RZA has proven to be more than qualified to produce a piece of Hip Hop history that can stand beside the likes of Straight Outta Compton, Roxanne Roxanne, All Eyez On Me and others.

From rushing the stage at the Grammys and grabbing the mic (where Yeezy got his style from) to going to pick up food stamps in Brooklyn in a limo, the story of ODB in a motion picture is sure to entertain and educate the public about the importance of Russell Jones in Hip-Hop culture.
