“The world is laughing at us,” was one of Trump’s go to quotes during his 2016 campaign when he railed against policies set by President Obama’s administrations. It seems now that the world is literally laughing and it’s at the 45th President’s expense.

During Trump’s speech at the U.N. General Assembly, the controversial POTUS attempted his normal inaccurate claim that his administration has accomplished more than almost any other administration in history. This line usually draws applause and praise from his comfortable audiences in the red states of America, but on the international stage world leaders couldn’t help but laugh at the American Commander-in-Chief.

“I wasn’t expecting that reaction but that’s okay,” Trump replied regarding the laughter at his statement. This drew an even larger laughter from world leaders which led to an applause as if Trump was a stand-up comedian.

Following his speech, when asked by reporters how he felt his speech went in regard to being laughed at, Trump claims that his statement was meant to draw laughter from the audience. Aside from this moment in the speech, Trump again berated other nations and flaunted his “America First” agenda.

Despite the embarrassment that comes with being the joke of UNGA, it may be a step up from last year when Trump on the world stage referred to North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un as “Rocket Man” during a time where the nuclear threat from the isolated nation was heightened.
