The artist formerly known as Kanye West is no stranger to the Saturday Night Live Stage.
Ye performed his Lil Pump featured hit, “I Love It.” Since its release, the song is Kanye’s biggest hit this year. The music video set a Youtube record for most views in a week, debuted at number 6 on the Hot 100 Charts and has turned into an extremely popular meme. Similar to the sumo-like costumes in the video, both West and Pump dressed up as sparkling water and Fiji water respectively. Yeezy even showed off some of his dance moves, while the two artists performed an edited version, that omitted some of the track’s vulgarity.

The second performance featured GOOD Music Queen, Teyana Taylor. The song “We Got Love” was allegedly a throwaway song from Taylor’s KTSE album. Teyana showed off her stunning physique, sporting a brown see-through crop top during her SNL debut. In the song, the “Rose In Harlem” artist sings:
We gon’ break the stigma up/Huxtables turn to Obamas
It ain’t about where you been/where you’re from/it’s all about love
Although the song did not make the cut for Teyana’s album, “We Got Love” could be one of the tracks on Yandhi.
The third performance featured Kid Cudi, 070 Shakes, and Ty Dolla Sign. Although Cudders and Shakes sang off key, it was great to see “Ghost Town” performed live for the first time. Ye opened the SNL stage to a number of his label mates and collaborators.
Ty Dolla Sign was featured in the live band and played his electric guitar for the performance. Ye then invited the rest of the performers and cast to join him on stage. The performance was abruptly interrupted due to NBC’s scheduling obligations. Despite the interruption, Ye’s performances served as tone-setters for SNL’s 44th season.
