LeBron James has heightened security at his Los Angeles home after a rash of burglaries at the homes of several celebrities, according to TMZ.
For weeks, burglars executed sophisticated robberies at the homes of some of the biggest names in Hollywood—from Rihanna and Christina Milian to football player Robert Woods. Investigators believe the burglaries are part of a gang operation in which members targeted homes based on social media postings and celebrities’ travel schedules.
According to reports, the thieves had a list of a dozen other celebrity homes that they wanted to hit, such as those owned by LeBron, Matt Damon, and Viola Davis. As a result, the Lakers’ forward reportedly has at least 10 armed security personnel at his home, including off-duty police officers, according to TMZ Sports. Additionally, TMZ reports that the NBA’s security team is also involved in the security plans.
James has since prepared himself for any future burglary amid the crew’s apparent focus on his home. He’s reportedly brought “at least 10 armed security personnel” to his house, “including off-duty police officers.”
James is taking the right precautions in these troubling time, especially when he was already a target before. It was over a year ago when someone sprayed painted the N-word on his front gate.
