The running rumor throughout LeBron James’ career is that he called plenty of the shots within the organizations that he plays for. That has followed him to the Los Angeles Lakers, however, when asked about if his buddy Carmelo Anthony will be putting on the purple and gold, LeBron made sure to let everyone know that is not his call.
“I have no idea to be honest, that’s not a question to ask me,” LeBron said. “Right now, we have 15 rosters spots right? We don’t have a roster spot open right now, so that’s not a question for myself.”
Anthony’s time with the Rockets has come to a close and many teams are rumored to be interested. The Lakers are one, the Portland Trail Blazers and Philadelphia 76ers are among others. The direct reason for Melo’s departure is still a bit hazy. Anthony has not spoken regarding the team and all figures from inside the Rockets organization state Anthony was a good teammate and adapted to every role he was asked.
Currently, the Lakers are finding their stride on the court winning four out of their last five. In their latest win against the Miami HEAT, King James led the way with 51 points.
