Kareem Hunt cleared waivers today and now has become an official free agent. The latest news regarding the running back won’t bode well for a hopeful return to the league at some point. TMZ returned Monday (Dec 3) to detail a police report naming Hunt in the attack of a man in January of this year.
The alleged attack took place on January 7, 2018, outside of a nightclub at 2 a.m., however, the police report was filed four days later. The incident was stated to have stemmed from an altercation involving the accusing man and Geroge Atkinson, a former Chiefs practice squad running back. Atkinson is stated to punch the man in the shoulder and would eventually be beaten the group of men, which included Hunt.
Injuries for the man included cuts around the mouth at the time but he also suffered from a broken rib, nose and various bruises.
