Of the many takeaways from the meeting was Trump threatening to shut the government down if he doesn’t receive the five-billion-dollar for funding the border wall. The border wall as a key component of Trump’s campaign. Originally, he said that Mexico would pay for it. Now it seems that American taxpayers will foot the bill, according to Trump.

A visible upset Trump argued, “I am proud to shut down the government for border security. I will take the mantle. I will be the one to shut it down.” He added, “We need border security. People are pouring into our country, including terrorists,” Trump said. “You can’t have very border security without the wall.”

Pelosi and Schumer stood firm and Trump came out looking not so good. The House Minority leader said, “It’s like a manhood thing for him,” Pelosi said in reference to the wall, according to the aide. “As if manhood could ever be associated with him.”
