The GEL-Lyte III has a truly classic look, featuring intricate design details that are met with global appeal. That’s why it comes as no surprise that ASICSTIGER’s latest iteration of the shoe, with help from Japan’s own atmos, would actually feature a whole map of the world.
Adapting a “World Map” theme, the collaborative colorway almost creates its own projection — not quite Mercator, Cassini on the toe box and a little Mollweide altogether. Fittingly enough, “Ocean Blue” is the tone that stands out the most for obvious reasons, but the multicolored continents seen throughout and black outlining gives the shoe a good range of detail. The silky grey insole is also a dope add-on, and the shiny effect extends onto the branding on the heel and overall stitching. Further complimenting features include cobblestone-patterned rope laces, translucent heel counter and a toe cap in navy blue that also comes into play on the medial side panel stripe. Definitely a nice shoe to travel around in!
