The year is ending on a sour note for Chris Brown who has been charged with two counts of owning a restricted species without a permit. The charges carry a maximum sentence of six months in jail.

The restricted species in question is the pet monkey owned by Breezy. The monkey is a baby capuchin that he calls Fiji. The monkey is no longer in Chris Brown’s possession as he was forced to surrender it to the California Department of Fish and Wildlife. The surrender of the animal was easier than the possibility of a raid of his home for the pet.

Due to this case, Chris Brown already has a court case on his calendar for 2019. He will have to go to court on February 6.

Earlier this year, Chris Brown and the same monkey cause commotion online after he allowed his daughter Royalty to play with the animal. You can see a video of his daughter and Fiji the monkey below.
