The Atlanta rapper moved about 131,000 equivalent units in his first week, as per Nielsen Music. Majority of the album’s sales was driven by streams. Just like Kodak Black last week, the Slaughter Gang rapper secured his first No. 1 album.

Although this is his first time holding down the top spot, he had a seat at the table before. His debut album, Issa Album, came in at No. 2, and Without Warning with Offset and Metro Boomin peaked at No. 4.

I Am > I Was has a youth-driven, star-studded guest list including, City Girls’ Yung Miami, Post Malone, Childish Gambino, Offset, Project Pat, ScHoolboy Q, Young Nudy, Gunna and Lil Baby. Metro Boomin, Southside, FKi 1st, Wheezy and more held down the production.

There was a bit of controversy surrounding the album after LeBron James quoted a line from “ASMR,” that enforced Jewish stereotypes. James and 21 Savage later apologized.
