In the wake of Jazmine Barnes’ family mourning her horrific death, Houston Texans’ DeAndre Hopkins has stepped in and pledged his playoff check to the Barnes family to help with funeral costs and support Sheriff Ed Gonzalez, journalist Shaun King and Mayor Sylvester Turner to help find Jazmine’s killer.

Aside from donating his $29K check to the family, Hopkins will dedicate Saturday’s wildcard game against the Indianapolis Colts to Jazmine, according to ESPN.

Hopkins said,

“When I see Jazmine Barnes; face, I see my own daughter, I’m pledging my playoff check this week to help her family with funeral costs and to support Shaun King, Mayor Sylvester Turner and Sheriff Ed Gonzalez bring this man to justice, On Saturday, I will be playing in your honor Jazmine.”

As we reported, the 7 year old girl was shot and killed in a Houston-area Walmart by an unidentified white make in what appears to be a racially motivated attack.
