Rising R&B/pop sensation Kyla Imani is starting her year off right with the music video for a new single called “Decline,” and she’s got popular Baltimore-bred rapper Deetranada to assist on the girl power anthem that has zero chill or tolerance for dudes that insist on blowing up your phone.
The visuals, produced by Tine Time Productions, make for a proper follow-up to her catchy 2018 single “Sitting Up In My Room” with Jay Critch, showing off the same fun-filled energy that embodies the trap-style song itself. Showcasing Kyla’s musical style and cool-as-ice clique (seen in the video still above), “Decline” is a high-energy track that encourages you to leave any and all lames on read, especially if, as Kyla effortlessly sings on the chorus, you’re just trying to ride your own wave. Basically, let ’em know to reserve the tears for someone who has time to put up with all that weak simp talk.
On Dee’s part, her bars are slick, swift and stealthy in a way that name-drops Sprint and T-Mobile without you even catching the reference off the rip. It’s the same whimsical flow that reality TV fans tuned into Lifetime’s The Rap Game to get a glimpse at. Overall, both ladies prove that whatever energy they’re on for 2019 is definitely what you need to be on as well in order to properly combat the slick-talkers on your cell phone contact list.
