Legendary singer James Ingram has passed away at age 66. The news was confirmed by actress Debbie Allen, a close friend to the singer. Ingram is a Grammy-winning singer and songwriter, notable for his hit songs “Baby, Come to Me” and “Somewhere Out There.”

TMZ reports Ingram succumbed to brain cancer after a life and career that included 14 Grammy nominations and collaborations with Quincy Jones, Ray Charles, Patti Austin and writing credits for Michael Jackson’s “P.Y.T. (Pretty Young Thing.”
