Maroon 5 is not up for answering questions about their Super Bowl halftime performance because the traditional halftime show press conference has been canceled.
The NFL claims that the artists want their performance to speak for them but it’s obvious that they’re dodging all questions about their agreement to perform and Colin Kaepernick.
The league stated, “Maroon 5 has been working hard on a Pepsi Super Bowl LIII Halftime Show that will meet and exceed the standards of this event. As it is about music, the artists will let their show do the talking as they prepare to take the stage this Sunday.”
The NFL has opted to a “social and digital media rollout” to promote the show.
There has been a strong pushback from artists like JAY-Z, Nick Cannon, and Common who have all criticized anyone allying with the NFL after the way they treated Kap.
