According to GLC, Kanye West is retiring the MAGA hat.
The Chicago rapper appeared on The Red Pill Podcast with Van Lathan and claimed that he had a heart-to-heart with Ye and he vows to never wear the hat again.
“[Kanye] actually gave me the boxes of the hats. He said, ‘I’m never wearing these again,'” the rapper revealed. “We had a conversation, and I explained it to him, you know, the hurt that was attached to it, and he said he’d never do it again. And that’s the word that he gave me.”
GLC also played devil’s advocate and noted that Yeezy’s admiration for Trump resulted in backlash, but also had positive results.
“He was like, ‘Bro, I’m just tellin’ you that we got that amazing woman out of jail in Florida, right? […] We didn’t really get to have that meeting until I put the hat on,'” GLC said. “So he lookin’ at like it as, more so, ‘OK, I wear the hat, I get the stones thrown at me, I’ll have people hating me, but people gonna get free.”
