If you were looking to mark a date on your calendar for the return of Atlanta, you might want to put your pen away. FX chief John Landgraf has detailed the hit series starring Donald Glover is behind schedule and will not return in 2019.

“I don’t know whether we’ll have Atlanta or not. The writers are back working right now, thank God,” said Landgraf.

The PR representative for FX, John Solberg, revealed that the show will not return for the Emmy Awards cycle.

“As you might imagine, Donald Glover is sort of the king of all media, and he just has had an incredibly complicated life. He’s had personal things he’s had to deal with, from injuries to other things I’d rather not say publicly that just have to do not with his personal life but his extended family,” Landgraf detailed.

If you are looking to get your Donald Glover fix, he will be taking the stage as Childish Gambino at numerous festivals this year, while his castmates Brian Tyree Henry, Lakeith Stanfield, and Zazie Beatz all have recent and upcoming projects.
