Last week the world officially added Ciara’s husband, Russell Wilson, Quarterback for the Seattle Seahawks, to the top of their list of relationship goals after reports surfaced that Wilson gifted Ciara her master recordings. Well, it turns out that that was just a rumor. Over the weekend, Media Take Out reported that Wilson purchased the masters and gave them to her in her name only, a music executive and insider told the blog that Wilson did this in 2017.
Sources close to Russell and Ciara told Complex that this wasn’t true. During a Makers Conference Q&A Ciara revealed that she does, in fact, own her masters and she spoke on why ownership is so important.
“Being able to own my masters has been really cool. When I see opportunities come I’m like yes I want that,” Ciara said. “To have that freedom and flexibility has been amazing.”
She also announced that she launched her own record label, Beauty Marks Entertainment which blends music, film, fashion technology, and philanthropy.
Recently Ciara has been teasing us with sultry photos on the internet letting us know that she will be dropping a new single which is produced under BME, “Greatest Love” on February 12.
