Even though Lil Pump was reportedly confirmed to deliver the commencement speech at Harvard University’s 2019 graduation ceremony, but the school has already annunced who will be elivering this year’s commencement speech, so how did Lil Pup’s name even get thrown in the that conversation?
Harvard officials have told media that, “As previously announced, Angela Merkel will be Harvard’s Commencement 2019 speaker.” Merkel, a German Chancellor, was confirmed as the Ivy League school’s speaker in 2018.
Now, it is being suggested that the press release sent out by Warner Bros. Records was merely a publicity stunt to push Pump’s new Harvard Dropout LP rather than have the “Gucci Gang” rapper speak to a group of college graduates.
The Florida native has always called himself a Harvard dropout, even though Pump never even graduated from high school. According to Pump, in order to give the speech, “You just need a cap and gown, which I got. When I found out, I was happy to give everyone a lesson. I’m all about the youth. Yes, they are the future. This is a preview of my speech, one word: ESSKEETIT!!!!!!”
