The fashion industry on all levels is still mourning the loss of Karl Lagerfeld last month, and Stüssy will soon drop a new T-Shirt out of its Spring 2019 collection that pays direct homage to the designer’s first years at CHANEL.

While the brand’s Spring 2019 campaign, shot by photographer Theo Sion, had already gone live almost two weeks before the iconic fashion impresario passed away on the morning of February 19, 2019, timing really is everything as they held out to properly roll out out this special piece that sheds light on his permanent print on the style & beauty industry. The core shirt in the collection in specific is a loose play on a CHANEL Beauty ad from 1980 (seen above), which pre-dates Lagerfeld’s reign by just a few years — he officially joined as Creative Director in 1983 — but still represents the era that he helped re-ignite the brand into the modern fashion empire that it is today. Definitely a fitting fashion tribute overall.

The Stüssy Spring 2019 collection has already began dropping online and via the brand’s Chapter stores worldwide, but look for this T-Shirt in specific to drop on March 8. See the rest of the previously-unveiled Spring 2019 campaign below:
