The New York Jets have landed the hottest free agent available. Le’Veon Bell has agreed to sign with the Jets, ending months of speculation as to where the star would land following his departure from Pittsburgh.
I’m back in the green baby, let’s get it

The news was first reported by Adam Schefter of ESPN. Schefter broke the news while sitting next to Scott Van Pelt on SportsCenter and then needed the host to kill some time on live TV while he got the financial numbers of the deal from his source. It also looked like he needed a second to tweet it out before saying it, which is great. It was a perfect example of just how nuts this time of the year is for NFL insiders, players, teams, and fans:

Bell sat out all of 2018 after the Steelers franchise tagged him for a second time, thinking he would hit free agency and make a pile of money, including making up for the $14 million he lost out on by not playing on the tag last year. While Bell didn’t see the market he desired, Bell still got a great contract and will now have a chance to be the man in New York.
While the numbers that Bell signed for will be debated about whether it was worth sitting out all of last season, at least now he has a new team and we can all stop talking about where he might end up.
