The last time G-SHOCK gave us the blues was with a G-STEEL watch in collaboration with Blue Note Records, and now it’s coming by way of West Coast-bred retailer Ron Herman for a GWX-5700 that embodies the “style of California life.”
Also called the G-LIDE, this iteration of Casio G-SHOCK’s more understated model takes on a baby blue hue inspired by the signature sea color of Malibu where Ron Herman is based out of in addition to Brentwood and West Hollywood. The white accents blend in perfectly to give off a light and easy vibe overall, and the actual features of this specific watch — it has a tide table graph that picks up on 100 unique tide points globally — brings the surf inspo full circle. Add to the fact that it’s water resistant like all G-SHOCK models and you’re pretty much ready for the ultimate wavy afternoon. Surf’s up!
The Ron Herman x G-SHOCK G-LIDE GWX-5700 retails for $280 USD with tax, and is expected to arrive in the near future.
