Issa Rae and Lakeith Stanfield are booked and busy! The two will star in Universal’s The Photograph which is directed by Stella Meghie and produced by Will Packer.
The romantic drama will focus on intertwining love stories from the past and present.
According to Variety, Universal is very high on the pic after Meghie impressed execs with her original script. Along with having a role in the movie, Rae will serve as an executive producer. Issa Rae is well known from her HBO comedy-drama series which is loosely based on Rae’s web series Awkward Black Girl. Insecure is explores the way Rae and her best friend Molly, played by Yvonne Orji navigate through life giving us a look at other types of black women instead of the typical “ghetto” one that is often portrayed. Rae will also star in Little alongside Regina Hall and Blackish star Marsai Martin which will hit theaters on April 12.
Stanfield was last seen in Sorry To Bother You and will star in Netflix film Someone Great.
