Fans of The Chi are currently deep in the middle of all the storylines of season two but will have comfort unknowing their favorite Showtime series has already been renewed for season three.
The Lena Waithe-created drama series chronicling life in the Windy City received early renewal according to Shadow & Act, citing confidence in the show and an interest in the work that is being done by Waithe.
“The Chi revels in revealing the beating heart of the South Side of Chicago,” said Gary Levine, President of Entertainment, Showtime Networks Inc. “We, like our viewers, have fallen in love with these characters and we remain eager to see where Lena and her fellow artists will take them in season three.”
The Chi stars Jason Mitchell, Tiffany Boone, Jacob Latimore and more, who use their acting talents to tell the interwoven story of many characters who encounter struggles, triumph and everything in between living on the Southside of Chicago. The show is executive produced by Waithe, Common, Ayana Floyd Davis, Aaron Kaplan, Rick Famuyiwa, Derek Dudley, and Shelby Stone.
