Sources have confirmed pop legend Madonna will announce details of her upcoming Madame X tour on Monday (May 6) morning. According to Page Six, Madonna will be “playing super small venues,” with New York stops possibly including the Beacon Theatre and Brooklyn Academy of Music.
There will be premium pricing for the first few rows, we hear, but there will also be a lottery for fans to snap up $10 tickets to the shows.
The intimate shows will be inspired by Madonna’s time in Lisbon — where she attended “living room sessions” of music played at locals’ homes.
When asked about the possibility of a new tour in promotion of her new project, the “Like a Prayer,” the singer told Billboard, “It’s been spoken about in such a deep way that I’m actually having production meetings.”
Ads for a special Monday announcement at 9 a.m. teased the tour over the weekend, without giving specifics. Fan sites have been picking up on the buzz: One Instagram feed, Madonna Scrapbook, reported on Saturday the Material Girl will be doing residencies at BAM, the Wiltern in LA, and the Chicago Theatre this fall, with premium packages hitting nearly $2,000. The shows would include seven dates in Brooklyn.
Madame X is out June 14.
