“My 4-year-old daughter was shot in the head, and she has a bullet in her brain, and my 5-year-old has a skull fracture,” mom Olivia Hill told KFOR. “My 1-year-old baby has gunshot wounds on her face. The two-year-old wasn’t hit with any bullets.

Police claim they were after a William Smith, a man who they believed was connected to an armed robbery at Pizza Hut

According to reports, Hill and the four children were in a pickup truck with Smith, when two officers approached him and gunfire broke out Friday in Hugo, which is near the Texas state line.

OSBI released a statement saying the two detectives involved in the shooting have been placed on paid administrative leave.

They say two Hugo detectives made contact with Smith while he was parked at a food center located at 400 West Bissell in Hugo and shots were fired. Smith was wounded and taken to the hospital in Paris, Texas.

This situation isn’t sitting well with protesters. They are determined to get justice for these children no matter how long it takes.

“We are tired of seeing situations happen like this across the country. We want some answers. This is something that I will not let die down. I don’t care if I’m 62 years old trying to do this.”

Investigators have not determined what led to the shooting that also wounded Smith, who was treated at a hospital about 30 miles away in Paris, Texas, then taken to a Texas jail on an Oklahoma robbery warrant.
