The month of May marks five years since we lost civil rights activist and world-renowned poet Maya Angelou, and KITH is honoring her legacy by creating a new capsule collection in partnership with the South Central Los Angeles high school named in her memory.

Released under KITH‘s Monday Program, the collaborative collection alongside Dr. Maya Angelou Community High School includes a hoodie, T-shirt and long-sleeve shirt that features a black & white photo of the famed Caged Bird writer on the front and her most prominent quotes to accompany on the back. The words “I Got My Own Back” are etched on the long-sleeve, the hoodie perfectly repurposes the words “Prejudice is a Burden That Confuses the Past, Threatens the Future, and Renders the Present Inaccessible,” and the hoodie rounds things out with the quote, “Do the Best You Can Until You Know Better. Then When You Know Better, Do Better.” An additional long-sleeve shirt in black was created exclusively for the the MAHS students, with all 1500 getting one in addition to a redesigned school logo by KITH.

The KITH x Maya Angelou Community High School capsule collection is sold out online, but you can still purchase one while the set is still available in-store. 100% of all prceeds will benefit the school. Take a look at the full collection and redesigned school logo below:
