For 39 years, the iconic all-in-one family destination, Sesame Place has been the go to adventure and the most talked about children’s theme/water park. Nestled in Langhorne, Pennsylvania, the amusement park offers something for all of your little ones featuring a slew of rides, shows and water attractions perfectly tailored to the younger audience. In addition, the theme park just received a facelift upgrading the most recognizable street in television history adding many new features including the VIP worthy ‘Counts Cabana’.

Fashioned after the classic TV show, Sesame Street—Sesame Place features some of the most colorful eye-catching rides kids just can’t get enough of alongside their favorite Sesame Street characters. I decided to take my daughter Felicity for her 3rd birthday celebration which included a ‘Dine With Elmo And Friends’ Experience, an up-close-and-personal Meet and Greet, reserved seating at ‘The Neighborhood Street Parade’ an we upgraded with Abby’s Unlimited Magic Queue making ride-hopping a breeze.

We checked into the ‘Counts Cabana’ which was a much needed luxury to a tired mom and dad chasing an excited toddler around. Overlooking the ‘Count’s Splash Castle’, the private 10X10 closed-in cabana offers a retreat for those families in need of extra privacy and some shade from the summer sun. Proving to be a must-have add-on, the cabana provided towels, refillable Sesame Street drinking cups, a ceiling fan, a refrigerator and a table and chairs for dining. Lounge chairs perfect for sun tanning after the water rides line the center of the area with personal butlers on deck to assist your needs. Much to our surprise we were greeted with a welcome birthday bag with items from the gift store full of everything a birthday girl could dream of. Perfect addition for celebrating with your little twiddlebug!

‘The Monster Clubhouse’ was a mini party for children which included a netted climbing area which kids bounced on like a trampoline. We ventured off to see the Sesame Street themed indoor and outdoor entertainment which featured their new live show ‘Our Street Is Sesame Street featuring the Muppets from Sesame Street’ – Elmo, Abby Cadabby and Big Bird and Elmo the Musical Live!

Ready to eat, we attended the sold-out ‘Dine With Elmo And Friends’ Lunch buffet where the Sesame Street characters danced and performed with all the kids who were way too excited to eat more than a few bites. Each child was able to interact and take photos with the characters while parents dined on a buffet-stye lunch.

‘StoryTime With Abby Cadabby’ was a huge hit with our munchkin and they also offered ‘Storytime with Julia’, ‘Storytime With Zoe’ and the ‘Magic of Art’. ‘The Neighborhood Street Parade’ was action-packed featuring a block party-esqu celebration complete with floats, dancers, singing and of course Elmo, Murray, Count Von Count, Bert, Ernie, Abby Cadabby, Zoe, Cookie Monster, Rosita, Big Bird and Telly. But it was Elmo’s Musical Meet And Greet that kept Felicity grinning from ear-to-ear.

From the electrifying rollercoaster, ‘Vapor Trail’ to ‘Oscar’s Wacky Taxi’, the rides were just the right amount of excitement for small thrill seekers. Other favorites included ‘Twiddlebug Land’ which featured the ‘Teeny Tiny Tidal Wave’, ‘Sky Splash’ and ‘Mix n’ Match Twiddle Tracks’,

A crowd favorite, ‘The Count’s Court’ boasts a multi-level, water park with over 90 play elements, including a gigantic 1000-gallon tipping bucket that explodes with water every few minutes. Felicity’s favorite’s were ‘Elmo’s Land’, and ‘Cookie Monster Land’ where she giggled throughout her ride on the teacups at ‘Monster Mix-up’. ‘Captain Cookie’s High C’s Adventure’ was another success which made her want to ride over and over again.

After tiring herself out we ended our amazing visit at the Sesame Neighborhood which is a spot on replica of the infamous Sesame Street including Big Bird’s nest and the most famous stoop of all.

Showcasing fun and compassion, Sesame Place has become the first theme park in the world to become a Certified Autism Center offering special wristbands, passes to skip the lines on certain rides and quiet rooms throughout the park.

This year Sesame Street® is celebrating 50 years of smiles on television and Sesame Place is celebrating all season long with the upcoming Fourth of July Fireworks Presented by DASANI® – July 4 & 5 and the July 4thFest from July 1-7.
