Summertime Party off of Uni-G’s Sophomore album “Welcome To My Universe”, is reminiscent of a summer pool party with a nostalgic feel but a new era bop to it. Feels like Will Smith, meets Tupac Shakur’s “I Get Around. Uni-G satisfies our desires visually and sonically with a pool party, burgers, franks on the grill, beautiful scenery, and so much more. He even takes it further with a basketball tournament re-done from the movie “Above The Rim” and a re-do scene of Will Smith’s “Summertime” with him and a friend sitting down with a moving scenery behind them. It’s like Uni brings back a unique sound that we’ve never heard before. It makes you want to smile and deeply warms your heart. With the classic Mary Jane Girls “All Night Long” sample and the LL Cool J “Around the Way” sample, Uni deeply taps into different generations of listeners. Listen closely and you can feel the raw passion behind the lyrics. Although its a feel-good song, Uni mentions his friend coming home from jail for the 100th time.
