New York City’s Webster Hall has been under major renovations since closing in April 2017. The concert venue closed out with an explosive headlined show by Action Bronson and announced that they’re re-opening in the Spring.
“While we’ve been closed, we have made some venue enhancements and think you will dig them,” the venue said in a statement. “While updates are still underway, we are pleased to say that Webster Hall will return in Spring 2019.”

Webster Hall was sold to AEG and BSE from the Ballinger Family after 27 years of business. The companies took over the operating rights, assets and the long-term lease of the building. They announced that they’re spending $10 million on renovations in order “to bring them up to contemporary standards and add a few more customer features.”
The building has a 130-year history. In the late 1800s, it served as a social hall for working class citizens of the Lower East Side through the Great Depression. From the 1950s to the 1960s it served as a recording studio for RCA Records. Before the Ballinger family took control in 1989, it was known as a concert venue called The Ritz.
