GoT fans have been sitting pretty tight for the new season. Showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss explained that they wanted to take their time filming the new episodes because there’s a lot at stake considering their global fanbase.

The eighth season will introduce eight new characters. One battle scene reportedly took 55 nights to shoot, and each of the six episodes will be 90 minutes long.

With the beloved series Game of Thrones coming to an end, there are talks of a prequel which stars its first Black female lead. Rumored to be titled The Long Night, it is set to take place thousands of years before the original.
