There’s only eight days left until Black History Month ends, and New York-bred streetwear imprint ALIFE is making sure to celebrate down to the last minute with a special capsule collection alongside the prestigious Brooklyn Museum.
Acting as the first in a series of collaborative projects to highlight artists and their innovative work, this capsule offering features a graphic by way of African-American painter, writer, and performance artist Faith Ringgold. The piece, titled “The United States of Attica,” was originally created in 1972 and recently featured in the museum’s “Soul of a Nation: Art in the Age of Black Power” exhibition that wrapped up earlier this month. For those that couldn’t attend, the political map motif will now be available to own and wear with pride, especially for those that like a dope T-Shirt and/or hoodie. For art lovers and streetwear heads alike, this is one drop that’s definitely worth taking some time out to go see the arts for.
The ALIFE x Brooklyn Museum capsule collection arrives tomorrow (February 21) in the brand’s online shop, NYC flagship location (158 Rivington St) and via the Brooklyn Museum itself.
