In celebration of all things women, Nigerian designer Chuks Collins partnered with Wonder Women Tech to bring in International Women’s Day.

The coveted designer known for his vibrancy, over the top designs and storytelling Collins focus was inclusivity and empowerment. To highlight women and their beauty Collins designed an exclusive capsule Fall Winter ’19 Collection titled; Womyn inspired by an everyday woman. The F/W 19 collection has married the concept of ethereal and intricate detailing. With a heavy emphasis on women’s complexities when it comes to style, the collection features tulles, organic wool and soft chiffon that showcase the playful nature of every woman.

Similar to the likes Savage X Fenty/Puma X Fenty, Chromat and Michael Kors the (age)-designer is amongst the many notable names adding to the ongoing discussion of diversity on the runway and fashion. The capsule collection consisted of a wide variety of models of different sizes and races. When asked about his thoughts on body positivity and inclusion in fashion, here’s what Collins had to say

“It’s surprising that in Fashion school we weren’t thought how to illustrate plus size women, and for me who was partially self-thought and grandmother thought before going to school for the certificate, she wasn’t a size 0-10 even, If I say am inspired by all women Inclusion is very important and very much Plus size women, cos that’s what I mostly saw growing up.”

In partnership with Wonder Women Tech, a percentage of the sales goes to the organization. Wonder Women Tech (WWT) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and ecosystem that produces year-round programming and national and international conferences that highlight, educate, and celebrate women and the underrepresented in STEAM industries (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Math), innovation and entrepreneurialism.
