While she was always known as the “Posh” one in her Spice Girls collective, Victoria Beckham is now going sporty with her debut collaborative collection alongside Reebok, and the full offering is major.

The Reebok x Victoria Beckham launch is jam-packed with sportswear that will literally have you covered from head to toe. Each piece is intricately designed with the signature staples and materials we’ve come to love from Reebok, merged with the high-end aesthetic that Beckham has come to be associated with over her years of being a world-renowned stylista from California all the way to London. Apparel for men, women and even a few unisex pieces are featured in this well-rounded collection, including sports bras, performance tights, socks, carryalls, bomber jackets, T-shirts, headwear, a balaclava and a full collection of sweat gear. The most standout items in the set are without a doubt the footwear options, offering two iterations of the recently-relaunced Bolton sneaker and two more colorways for the new Bolton Sock silhouette. As her first time out as the latest Brand Ambassador for ‘Bok, the spicy homie “VB” is definitely killing it for the ladies and fellas alike.

Shop the Reebok x Victoria Beckham collection right now online and at Reebok retailers worldwide, and peep the full set in its entirety below:

In addition to a collection of GORE-TEX gear, Stüssy is also preparing for the release a new wave of gear being called, well, the “New Wave Gear” collection. Sometimes it’s best to just keep it simple that way.

The surf-inspired capsule delivers on the washed-out aesthetic and retro motifs, seen on a handful of tees, crewnecks, zip-up fleece and hoodies. Streetwear collections these days arenn’t complete without even the tiniest bit of camo, and this set gives us a whole ‘fit that utilizes a more classic print for the fellas and a more vibrant floral-based variation for the ladies to enjoy. Vintage “Stüssy International Corporation” branding is included for proper logo placement, giving the collection in its entirely a very nostalgic feel. Good thing throwback is the wave that everyone’s riding right about now.

Pick up the Stüssy “New Wave Gear” collection starting this Friday (January 18) online and at retailers, including DSM LA and DSM London. Lookbook images below:

Happy birthday, Aaliyah!

The legendary, self-described “full-on entertainer” would’ve celebrated her 40th birthday today if not for the tragic accident that took her life on August 25, 2001 at the youthful age of 22. As birthdays are always met with gifts and pleasantries, we’re sure Baby Girl would’ve love receiving something she adored: a fresh pair of kicks.

The undisputed Princess of R&B could’ve easily been deemed the Princess of Sneakers as well, especially considering her love for Nikes — the Air Max series seemed to be her fave. How do we know? Well, given Aaliyah’s place as one of the flyest musicians of all-time, we took some time to reminisce over her greatest sneaker moments documented throughout her career. From classic drops like the Air Force 1 to more rare finds like the Air Max Uptempo 3.0, this was one woman that always stayed up on the hottest releases.

Take a look below to see how Aaliyah kept her kick game proper, from the early Age Ain’t Nothing But a Number era to just days before the ill-fated “Rock The Boat” video shoot:

10. Nike Air Up “Penny”

Worn At: Urban Aid 4 Lifebeat Event (1995)

Even as a youngin’, Aaliyah knew about the heat. These “Pennys” she was rocking over two decades ago are still fresh today.

9. Nike Air More Uptempo

Worn At: MTV Rock N’ Jock Event (1996)

Those celebrity basketball games that MTV used to throw were the best! Of course Liy would have on a pair of crisp white Uptempos with a custom jersey to match. Water.

Image: The LIFE Picture Collection/Getty Images

8. Nike Air Force One Mid SC

Worn At: Lil Kim’s “Crush On You (Remix)” Music Video (1997)

Too fresh! You can’t even find these with the jewel Swoosh on the side anymore.

Image: Anderson Ballantyne

7. Clark’s Wallabee

Worn At: “Hot Like Fire (Remix)” Music Video (1997)

The best part about this look was the way Aaliyah freaked it: one red Wallabee, the other black. Custom leather camo pants to match? Hot like fire, indeed.

Image: John Ricard

6. Nike Air Max Uptempo 3.0

Worn At: Soul Train Awards (1998)

The queen of all-black-everything continued her Air Max adoration with this rarely-seen Uptempo 3.0. These need a re-release, ASAP!

Image: Lisa Rose/Globe Photos

5. Nike Air Max Plus

Worn At: ELLE Magazine Photoshoot (1999)

This behind-the-shoot group pic makes it hard to see what colorway she was rocking, but the Air Max Plus silhouette is undeniable from any distance. Even Da Brat is looking at Aaliyah’s kicks like, “Where you get THOSE?!”

Image: ELLE, August 1999

4. K Swiss ST329

Worn At: Promo Tour in Berlin for Romeo Must Die & the chart-topping single “Try Again” (2000)

Staying fresh even when overseas. And yes, K Swiss was poppin’ in 2000 — don’t front!

Image: Mika Väisänen

3. adidas Superstar

Worn At: Me, Myself & Irene Premiere (2000)

Shelltoe Superstars for a superstar. It doesn’t get more classic than that.

Image: Frank Trapper / Getty

Honorable Mention: Timberland Premium 6-Inch Boot

Worn At: The Face Magazine Photoshoot (2000)

Technically these aren’t sneakers, but we couldn’t resist. Wheat Timbs on Aaliyah looked absolutely perfect. Peep the “Come Back In One Piece” video with DMX for another prime example.

Image: Christophe Rihet

2. PUMA Clyde

Worn At: MTV: ICON – Janet Jackson Event (2001)

If only Aaliyah and Janet were able to officially collaborate as they were planning around this time. Definitely one of the biggest “What ifs” often associated with her musical legacy.

Image: Alpha Agency / BestImage

1. Nike Air Force 1 Low

Worn At: Co-Hosting BET’s 106 & Park; Last Public Appearance (2001)

How fitting that an angel’s public sign-off would be while rocking all white and the most iconic silhouette in sneaker history. She’ll forever be a style icon.

Happy would-be 40th Birthday, Aaliyah! You’ll forever be a 22-year-old Princess of R&B in our eyes. We miss you. Share your favorite memories of the “One In a Million” chanteuse with us over on Facebook and Twitter!

It’s quite apparent that the women of today are taking a stance across all platforms — standing up for equality, pushing back against abuse in any capacity and taking the leadership role in male-dominated areas have all become societal norms for the ladies. We see this strength especially within the entertainment industry, particularly in times like the #MeToo movement that’s taken over Hollywood and the fight to #MuteRKelly that’s recently transcended into the music industry. Louis Vuitton taps women from both respective industries for its latest Pre-Fall 2019 campaign, and the fresh faces featured range from a leading lady on HBO and Oscar-nominated starlets all the way to a new age R&B sensation and even the new Tomb Raider.

Print-heavy pieces, billowing layers and a range of cut-and-sew apparel that feature cross-pattern construction are some of the highlights in this set. Floral is clearly the ongoing theme, and makes its way in the form of peacoats, bags and of course the fly dresses that LV is known for creating. Overall, these pieces are a fit for any fashionista, especially those that look up to style icons like alt-R&B siren Kelela, Alicia Vikander a.k.a. the new Lara Croft, Thai actress Urassaya Sperbund, Chinese starlet Zhong Chuxi, Dark Phoenix — er, we mean Sophie Turner! — SMILF co-star Samara Weaving, Oscar-nominated actress Ruth Negga, Pose actress Indya Moore representing for the trans & Latinx communities, American Honey star Riley Keough, multi award-winning actress Michelle Williams, Cannes Film Festival darling Léa Seydoux, Spider-Man: Homecoming leading lady Laura Harrier, Yellowstone actress Kelsey Asbille, veteran Hollywood starlet Jennifer Connelly, J-horror queen Doona Bae, former teen queen Chloë Grace Moretz and Westworld beauty Thandie Newton.

The Louis Vuitton Pre-Fall 2019 collection will drop soon online and at LV retailers. See all the women featured in the campaign below:

After seeing Chinese New Year-themed footwear from the likes of Nike and adidas, it looks like Gucci is also dropping its own capsule collection to celebrate the Year of the Pig by recruiting the perfect little mascots. Three to be exact.

The 19-piece offering is highlighted by motifs of Disney’s Three Little Pigs, which come in the form of embroidered patches on a series of carry-alls, sweaters and even the brand’s signature Ace sneaker for men and women. The rest of the set is filled with other various ready-to-wear gems, including a T-Shirt, polo, watch, and crewneck. A non-Disney-related piglet graphic is incorporated as well into the knitwear offerings, which include a wool cardigan, hat, scarf, oversized tee and socks. Real-life piggly wigglys not included, unfortunately.

Get the Gucci “Chinese New Year” collection right now via the brand’s online shop, and take a look at all the Three Little Pigs-themed pieces below:

Last week we showed you guys a fire pair of Air Jordan 4s designed by The Shoe Surgeon, but we think those were moreso created for the fellas. However, we now have a look at a pair that was made especially for our HERSource fam, decked out in a very vibrant “Hot Punch” hue.

This WMNS iteration of the Air Jordan 4 is completely covered in the infrared colorway, which looks extra flossy due to the patent leather construction on the upper. The only other pops of color come into play on the speckled midsole, hang tag and eyelets. Hints of black are also incorporated in small dosages, mainly with the Jumpman logo on the tongue and heel and on parts of the bottom portion of the sole. One final add-on in the colorway department is a minor hit of yellow on the Jumpman logo found on the bottom sole as well, which is a fitting feature even though it’s hidden on the midfoot for the most part. Ladies, these are definitely not to be slept on if you consider yourself a sister in the sneakerhead world.

Get the Air Jordan 4 WMNS NRG “Hot Punch” starting this Saturday (January 12) at select retailers like Sneaker Politics, who also provided the eye-grabbing imagery below:

Friday night, AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF) hosted Keeping The Promise – One Million Lives In Care: Celebrating Icons of Dance.

The event was held in partnership with legendary choreographer/dancer and filmmaker, Debbie Allen, at the historic Apollo Theater in New York City. From beginning to end the amazing tribute featured the top performers in the industry.  The woman of the honor Debbie Allen payed tribute to past choreographers honoring their lives and talent.  Each performance captivated the audience as dance routines from the past were brought back to live. Misty Copeland took time to thank Debbie Allen for being an inspiration to many and dropped to her knee to bow at Allen’s feet as the crowd applauded.
I had a chance to speak with Ms. Allen on the red carpet about female camaraderie and why it’s missing from today’s youth and she says it’s simple, it begins at home.  “All of that starts with your family, my mom has been the litmus test for success and my sister Phylicia Rashad and I are best friends, if we can get rid of the jealousy we can understand that the achievement of one is the achievement of us all.” She continues, “When Misty was appointed as the principle ballet dancer of the New York City Ballet we were all standing there cheering, Lauren Anderson was there, we were all happy.  I don’t know how to teach people that… it’s either something you get in your family or you don’t we have to look back and try to pull people along.”

Special guests included Award Winning Entertainers: Phylicia Rashad, Norm Nixon, Misty Copeland, Jennifer Holliday, Melba Moore, George Faison, Gordon Chambers, Lillias White, Notable Choreographer: Louis Johnson,  Dance Theater Of Harlem’s Robert Garland, Emil Wilbekin, Kevin Powell, and AHF President, Michael Weinstein. The evening featured performances by the Syncopated Ladies, Philadanco, Ailey II, the Dance Theater Of Harlem and the Debbie Allen Dance Academy. In addition to saluting the pioneers of dance, AHF recognized Debbie Allen with the Lifetime Achievement Award for her outstanding service in the fight against HIV/AIDS.

A few months ago, model Winnie Harlow sat down with Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live, causing some controversy. On the show, she explained America’s Next Top Model’s impact on her career. To many people’s surprise, she noted that the reality show did not help her career at all.

Harlow said,”I really started after the show (because that really didn’t do anything for my career). Which it doesn’t do anything for any model’s career, realistically.” She continued, “I thought it was going to be a career starter, but it was really like but a reality tv show. That’s not what I signed up for.”

Recently, Tyra Banks appeared on the Bravo talk show and gave her opinion. Tyra laughed it off with a smize, “Did she say that? I discovered her on Instagram… I have nothing but love for my girls.” She continued, “They’re all my babies. Even the ones that act out.”

One of Tyra’s baby also responded. Eva Marcille joined Andy Cohen on the hit talk show and he asked her thoughts on Harlow’s comments about ANTM.

She did not shy away from giving her two cents:

“You know it amazes me that people get opportunities and they totally forget who gave them those opportunities.” The straightforward Marcille continued, “Winnie Harlow is a beautiful girl but let’s be clear, we know her because of ‘Top Model’. The world knows her, Drake knows her, Wiz Khalifa knows her because of ‘Top Model’.”

Harlow has since responded to Eva Marcille’s reactions and continues to plead her case that ANTM did nothing for her career except add a reality television stigma to her brand. She explained that the only reason she began to book work is that she began to grow her portfolio in Europe which led to her first big campaign.

When most people think of Payless shoes, they conjure up an image of the midwestern strip mall store filled with middle age moms and senior citizens. In fact, when I was in middle school, I would make my mom drive to the Payless three miles away to avoid the possibility of being seen by anyone I knew. Yet when people think of invite-only SoCal pop-up stores filled with new high-end fashion brands, they’re often eager to jump at such an opportunity- something that advertisers have known for years.

And therein lies the story of how Palessi, one of the most brilliant marketing maneuvers of 2018, was born.

Last Wednesday, Payless took over a former Armani store, renamed the retail location as “Palessi” and stocked the outlet with its discount-priced boots, heels, tennis and leisure shoes. Then, it invited a flock of partygoers and sold them the shoes, typically priced at $20-$40 in Payless stores, at inflated designer price tags of $200 to $600. The pop-up store reportedly sold over $3,000 worth of footwear in just a few hours- far more than it could ever have in one of its normal retail locations. They invited fashion “influencers” to the event and recorded their responses, which range from hilarious to sad.

The ”influencers” praised the brand’s design, materials, and style, going so far as to call the shoes “elegant” and “stylish.”

Despite their perfectly legal activity, Payless refunded all of the influencers their money but kept their video testimonials as proof of the social experiment’s findings.  Doug Cameron, chief creative officer of New York ad company DCX Growth Accelerator, explained the stunt’s rationale in an interview to AdWeek: “Payless wanted to push the social experiment genre to new extremes, while simultaneously using it to make a cultural statement. Payless customers share a pragmatist point of view, and we thought it would be provocative to use this ideology to challenge today’s image-conscious fashion influencer culture.”

While Payless has received mostly positive praise for the event on social media, the influencers might be a little embarrassed, but at least now they know where they can get some great footwear for this winter season.

Without driving to a store three miles away.

Kylie Jenner made her debut as an official Brand Ambassador for adidas with a standout FW18 Falcon campaign to start the fall season off, and now she’s back to show off new Falcon colorways for SS19 and unveil the adidasCOEEZE tracksuit.

The Falcon, a refined take on the OG Falcon Dorf silhouette from 1997, arrives this time around in two options: one simple and the other a bit more vibrant. The first utilizes a white base and balanced hits of blue, red, purple and orange throughout the heel and midsole. Metallic gold covers the upper on the second iteration available, complimented further by purple, blue and pink accents. The apparel side includes the aforementioned adidasCOEEZE tracksuit as the main attraction, coming in red or deep purple to match both shoes. The set is completed with soft fleece T-shirts, pants and hooded sweatshirts, making this a must-cop collection to combat the cold. Thanks, Kylie!

The adidas SS19 Falcon campaign launches next Thursday (December 6) at Three Stripes retailers globally. Check out Kylie in the shoot below:

Twenty years ago, Victoria’s Secret was the name brand for high end, quality lingerie. The Victoria’s Secret fashion show was the epitome of sexy haute couture and the “angels” (models) lucky enough to be selected to walk the runway were guaranteed a solidified supermodel status. Men wanted to look at Victoria’s Secret and women wanted to wear it.

Yet despite a promising Victoria’s Secret 2018 Annual Fashion Show lineup including models Kendall Jenner, Candice Swanepoel, Bella Hadid, and more, as well as performances by Bebe Rexha, The Chainsmokers, Halsey, Kelsea Ballerini, Rita Ora, the company has been plagued with problems throughout 2018 including a recent CEO resignation, plummeting stocks (down 43% in 2018 alone), record low viewership of the annual fashion show, and store closures. Yet it’s not just one bad year. Stock prices have been in a downward spiral since 2015, dropping a reported 72% over three years.

How did a company that once cornered the market on bras and upscale lingerie fall so fast? Some experts argue that it’s due to the out of touch marketing strategy of the company. After all, most women don’t look like Victoria’s Secret angels. While the models in Victoria’s Secret fashion show remain extremely thin, other brands have embraced larger models and advertised for more diverse body types. At the fashion show for Rihanna’s Fenty line, the models came in a variety of shapes, sizes, and ethnicities- a stark contrast to the values espoused by Victoria’s Secret.

However, the major reason is likely that of competition. The fashion and makeup industries have extremely low barriers to entry, making it easy for competitors to undercut Victoria’s Secret by offering similar products at lower prices. Whereas Victoria’s Secret used to rely on brick and mortar stores and its catalog for sales, newer companies can target women using social media and internet advertising. While smaller startup fashion lines might not have as big of a budget as Victoria’s Secret, other retailers such as American Eagle and Amazon have both begun to take chunks out of Victoria’s Secret market share.

Unless the retailer revamps its image or adds another line as successful as their PINK line, all signs are forecasting a bleak Black Friday for the one-time lingerie giant.

Unless Victoria’s Secret angels can perform a Christmas miracle.

I’m so excited to finally launch my very own clothing line through @vimvixen! When I got out of prison, I wanted to do something to support women just like me…women who have done their time and paid their debt to society. Nonetheless, these women are still over-looked and forgotten after being released from jail or prison. Resources and services are largely catered to men, disregarding the women that greatly need our support. A portion of the proceeds from my clothing line “The Remy Ma Collection” will go towards my foundation @remymafoundation, which helps women who have experienced incarceration, by providing opportunities and life-long resources to help enhance their lives and the lives of their families. I am so very proud of this moment! Launching both a clothing line and foundation are two things I have been very passionate about since my release from prison! I want to thank my entire team and @VIMVixen for seeing and supporting my vision of helping women all over the country! Stay tuned, because I will be giving my fans a chance to win a shopping spree really soon! And don’t forget you can stop by any Vim store in the 5 boroughs and NJ to purchase the #RemyMaCollection and you can shop online at SHOPVIMVIXEN.COM #remyma #remymafia!!! 💋💋💋

After letting the fellas rock yesterday with the lookbook for Stüssy’s Holiday 2018 collection for men, the iconic brand’s sub-label for women is making sure the ladies are laced with fly gear as well for the forthcoming festive season.

Taking on a ski-inspired theme, the new Stüssy Women offerings are very similar to what we saw yesterday for the guys: T-Shirts, hoodies, outwear, fleece and denim offerings amongst other items. Granted, while not as print-heavy as the aforementioned men’s collection, a few pieces do carry over the acid tie dye prints that were some of the standouts from the set. There’s also a piece or two we spotted that were designed exclusively with women in mind, like the rugby dresses and striped skirts. We do notice a lot of gear from both offerings though that utilize enough unisex vibes that makes it very easy to mix and match.

The first Stüssy Women delivery for Holiday 2018 hits Stüssy Chapter Stores, Dover Street Market London, and the online shop beginning this Friday (October 26). See how the ladies are getting it in the lookbook below:

Not a stranger to finding her own niche in the fashion world, Designer Danielle Watson is ready to change normal dimensions when it comes to fashion.  While street wear is her go-to, her androgyny gives her the confidence to redefine the lines of masculinity and femininity.

Danielle and her partner, décor goddess, Neffi Walker both share a love for vintage finds as Neffi is known for sourcing unique vintage furniture. The couple decided to bring a noir rendition of interior design and vintage artistry to a private location known as The Spot. The Spot is an exclusive shopping experience set to capture the minds of those who are looking to explore new boundaries that define captivation, boldness and momentousness. The two have handpicked fifteen vendors that align with the couple’s high measure of quality and taste. With products ranging from vintage fur coats to opulent flower arrangements, vintage baroque mirrors to distinguished men’s grooming supplies. The first installment of The Spot will be in Newark, NJ October 20th.

The Source sat down with The Spot creator and discussed her personal take on her effortless androgynous style.

1. How did this unique shopping experience come about?
People often ask about my style so my partner Neffi Walker and I decided to curate a space to showcase my style, which is mostly vintage, with her vintage furniture. It started as a Pop -Up shop with just the two of us but we decided to open the door to other vendors. We felt that offering our platform and bringing entrepreneurs and creatives into one space can do wonders to everyone’s network and brand.

2.  How would you describe your own personal style?

I like to believe I am simple. Although I love textures, bold colors and at times a clean, tailored look, I am most comfortable in street wear. I tend to stick to modest looks with one piece that may catch the eye of someone who is paying attention. My androgyny allows me to be as fluid as I want in approach which allows me to be uninhibited in many ways.

3. Who are some of your influences?

Black culture is my primary influence. My “look” is ever changing so there is not one place, person or look that really sticks. I get inspiration from the people I meet, the places I travel, etc. but black culture is the only influence that transcends through all my variations.

4.  What can we expect to experience at the Spot?

All vendors have been handpicked due to the quality of product and their brand. All the creators in this space have very different items. It is a true lifestyle shopping experience that encapsulates everything from home, to fashion, to grooming, to floral designs. Not only is it set to show the range of creatives in this area, our goal was to introduce many outsiders to Newark to assist with changing the narrative. I am looking forward to the energy in the space more that anything. It is a space to showcase young black creatives and promote black dollar circulation.

5.  In a perfect world, what would you like to see more of and less of in fashion?

In a perfect world I would love to see more blurred lines. I would love to see lines blurred on gender identity and what is appropriate as it pertains to fashion. I would also love to see lines blurred as it pertains to what is “wearable”. There are many new designers that lack a level of creativity and innovation that sets them apart because of these restrictions.

You don’t want to miss this unique shopping experience

Fran Drescher’s from the popular 90’s sitcom, The Nanny stopped by PeopleTV’s Chatter earlier this week and announced that a reboot of the show could possibly be in the works. Although networks have not shown extreme interest in green-lighting this reboot, Drescher says she’s working on a very big project that will be very exciting for fans of The Nanny.

The icing on the cake is that Drescher has her eye on “Bodak Yellow” star, Cardi B, playing her daughter in the reboot. After Cardi took to The Tonight Show last December wearing a green silk and fur top that looks as if it came straight out of Fran Drescher’s closet, in addition to Cardi dedicating her full cheetah print Milan Fashion Week outfit to Fran in an Instagram post, Fran and fans alike believe that would be a match made in heaven.

Drescher stated, “I got my juices flowing and thought, ‘Wait a minute, she’s from New York, we both have funny voices, she could be my daughter!’”

Would you watch a The Nanny reboot starring Cardi B?

— Body confidence levels are highest within individuals ranging in ages of 50 – 60 years old
— 40% of respondents claim their confidence levels are higher than five years ago as they continue to grow more comfortable with their bodies
— 43% of participants agree that seeing body diversity in the marketing imagery makes them feel better
— 39% of participants agree that social media affects their body confidence – of which respondents under 30 were almost 2.5x more likely to be affected versus respondents over 30— 54% of participants feel most body confident when in a romantic relationship and/or dating
— 49% attribute their partner to their confidence

Using the deets above, two brand new plus size-exclusive lines were created: the Rendezvous and Belle Amour. Arriving in sexy red and black hues that blend in perfectly with the midnight hour, both options are sure to make women feel cool, confident and oh-so seductive in any occasion — definitely when it comes to the bedroom, though! As an added bonus, striking pluz-size model Audrey Ritchie is the face of the campaign, showing off Rendezvous and Belle Amour in a way that’s hard to actually look away.

The new Lovehoney plus size Rendezvous and Belle Amour range goes up to a size 24, and you can pick up both right now in the company’s online store. See Audrey show off all the goods in the lookbook below:
