As if the backlash Gucci recently received for its poorly-executed turtleneck that bears a resemblance to blackface wasn’t enough, Burberry decided to “one-up” the competition during a Fall/Winter 2019 runway show for London Fashion Week with its own insensitive ready-to-wear essential: a hoodie with drawstrings fashioned in the form of a noose. Yeah, that “WTF” expression on your face right now is our sentiments exactly.

@burberry @riccardotisci17 Suicide is not fashion. It is not glamorous nor edgy and since this show is dedicated to the youth expressing their voice, here I go. Riccardo Tisci and everyone at Burberry it is beyond me how you could let a look resembling a noose hanging from a neck out on the runway. How could anyone overlook this and think it would be okay to do this especially in a line dedicated to young girls and youth. The impressionable youth. Not to mention the rising suicide rates world wide. Let’s not forget about the horrifying history of lynching either. There are hundreds of ways to tie a rope and they chose to tie it like a noose completely ignoring the fact that it was hanging around a neck. A massive brand like Burberry who is typically considered commercial and classy should not have overlooked such an obvious resemblance. I left my fitting extremely triggered after seeing this look (even though I did not wear it myself). Feeling as though I was right back where I was when I was going through an experience with suicide in my family. Also to add in they briefly hung one from the ceiling (trying to figure out the knot) and were laughing about it in the dressing room. I had asked to speak to someone about it but the only thing I was told to do was to write a letter. I had a brief conversation with someone but all that it entailed was “it’s fashion. Nobody cares about what’s going on in your personal life so just keep it to yourself” well I’m sorry but this is an issue bigger than myself. The issue is not about me being upset, there is a bigger picture here of what fashion turns a blind eye to or does to gain publicity. A look so ignorantly put together and a situation so poorly handled. I am ashamed to have been apart of the show. #burberry. I did not post this to disrespect the designer or the brand but to simply express an issue I feel very passionate about.

A post shared by 🦎 (@liz.kennedy_) on

Called out originally via the Instagram of Liz Kennedy, a model that walked in the show and was reportedly rebuffed when she tried to call it out prior to showtime, this scandal is the latest in a clear example of high-end brands lacking diversity in the creative process. The symbol of a noose alone is almost always synonymous with suicide, and especially the lynching culture of America’s sordid days of slavery, so the inspiration Burberry was going for here is truly lost on us. Of course, an apology has been issued in response to the negative feedback the brand has been getting since the hoodie was first made aware, as seen below in this official statement by the brand’s chief creative officer:

“We are deeply sorry for the distress caused by one of the products that featured in our A/W 2019 runway collection…Though the design was inspired by the marine theme that ran throughout the collection, it was insensitive and we made a mistake.”

— Marco Gobbetti, CEO, Burberry (via CNN)

Famed CCO Riccardo Tisci also issued a response himself, stating, “I am so deeply sorry for the distress that has been caused as a result of one of the pieces in my show on Sunday,” adding, “While the design was inspired by a nautical theme, I realize that it was insensitive. It was never my intention to upset anyone. It does not reflect my values nor Burberry’s and we have removed it from the collection. I will make sure that this does not happen again.”

This isn’t the first time in recent months that Burberry has faced flack for their fashion choices. Just last summer, the brand came under fire (literally!) for choosing to burn unsold garments as a way to stop bootlegs from being made and to keep the Burberry name valuable overall. Unfortunately, stunts like that and the ordeal happening now are the perfect way to do the opposite by completely devaluing its legacy.

Is this enough to make you boycott Burberry? Let us know what you guys think over on our Facebook and Twitter!

Building off the #MyCalvins FW17 campaign that featured the whole A$AP Mob, Calvin Klein has now tapped the group’s head honcho A$AP Rocky for the latest SS19 rollout and accompanying advertisements.

Although not the sole star of CK’s traditionally intimate series of posters this time around — supermodel Kendall Jenner and pop sensation Shawn Mendes also strip down for the campaign — Rocky holds down the rap element on his own for the heritage lifestyle brand, which has always been prevalent through the likes of rappers Foxy Brown and Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes in the late ’90s/early 2000s all the way to our current Hip-Hop era with Fetty Wap, Joey Bada$$ and even Kendrick Lamar flexing for the Klein cam back in 2016. Denim, logo tees and classic undergarments make up the main portion of the featured items, and the ad itself is inspired by the freedom expressed through today’s youth culture, summed up perfectly by an overall theme titled “OUR NOW.”

Check out A$AP Rocky and the other stars featured in Calvin Klein’s SS19 “OUR NOW” campaign below, and shop the looks right now at select CK retailers and online:

The fashion world has lost another icon.

Renowned designer Karl Lagerfeld passed away in Paris earlier this morning, ending his astounding era as a Creative Director for Chanel, Fendi and his own namesake label. The one that made it possible for Frank Ocean to even croon about “seeing both sides like Chanel” — Mr. Lagerfeld famously created the “double C” logo back in the ’80s when he assumed the role after Coco Chanel’s death in 1971 — Karl was always about pushing boundaries, creating conversation around his creations and ultimately pulling from all sources of influence to construct ready-to-wear garments that would truly be groundbreaking. He accomplished that and so much more, but one key source of inspiration that isn’t talked about enough is his fascination with Hip-Hop fashion. It’s currently apparent with the examples of lyrical praise as mentioned above and in countless other rap verses, but Karl Lagerfeld has honestly been a rap fiend since the very beginning.

As seen above in Vogue‘s video profile of the Chanel Autumn/Winter 1991 fashion show, which took place less than a decade after he became head of haute couture designs in 1983 and then ready-to-wear as well in 1984, the core influence for that season in particular was borrowed from the rise of rap in the early ’90s. Big bling, oversized caps, leather outwear that looked like bubble flight jackets and supermodel Stephanie Roberts effortlessly making her way down the runway in denim and a perfectly-picked afro all made for the perfect tribute. One of the looks from the show, worn by fellow fashion diva Linda Evangelista, even inspired an unforgettable ‘fit worn by rap queen Cardi B during a performance of “Money Bag” last year on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

Then there are examples of Lagerfeld’s more direct influences on the rap game, like his longstanding industry friendship with Kanye West — he shot ‘Ye for the cover of VMAN in 2011, sparked collab rumors a year later during a mere power lunch and later captured the Kimye love for the cover of Harper’s Bazaar in 2016 — and his current partnership with Pharrell, which has led to a limited edition pair of adidas NMDs, a Disney Prince-inspired feature in the short film “Reincarnation” directed by Lagerfeld and a current brand collaboration in the works that was teased back in October during the Chanel Cruise 2018/19 replica show. That’s not even to mention the art direction Karl blessed Kanye protégée Theophilus London with for his 2015 sophomore album Vibes!, proving that his eye is on the new school of Hip-Hop just as much as it is on the big curators of our culture.

Creating fashion for the female form was Karl’s expertise, so the women of Hip-Hop were of course in love with his creations the most. One in particular happened to be our sole female 2019 Power 30 Issue inductee Rihanna, who has been a muse for years to the fashion industry impresario, whether she’s front-and-center at the latest Chanel presentation, supporting him over at Fendi, or just rocking one of his vintage designs during an unforgettable performance at the Victoria Secret Fashion Show back in 2012.

During a 2008 Harper’s Bazaar fashion editorial that decked out designers in their fantasy roles, Lagerfeld dressed up as an MC and was quoted as saying, “Believe it or not, I love rap!” No worries, fam — we believe you 100%. The feeling is very mutual.

R.I.P. to Karl Lagerfeld, who will continue to live on through his illustrious designs and mark on the world overall via his vivid vision of style. Let us know your thoughts on this unfortunate loss over on our Facebook and Twitter!

It was all good just a few months ago!

Beloved discount footwear retailer Payless Shoesource was all fun and games back in December when the brand’s viral “Palessi” prank fooled L.A. influencers into purchasing $20 shoes for upwards of $600, but now it unfortunately looks like the brand is in a situation that’s no laughing matter. According to reports by multiple news outlets, Payless has confirmed that the company will be closing 2,100 stores in the U.S. and Puerto Rico, with liquidation sales already starting at stores nationwide.

Here’s what the official reports are saying, via CNN:

“Payless also plans to shut down its online store. The company could file for bankruptcy for a second time by the end of the month, according to reports.

Founded in 1956 in Topeka, Kansas, Payless has more than 3,600 locations in 40 countries and over 18,000 employees, according to its website. A spokeperson said its international franchises and Latin American stores will not be affected.

The company first filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in April 2017 and closed roughly 400 stores at that time. It reorganized and cut millions of dollars in debt, but that doesn’t appear to have been enough to save the company.”

While most stores are expected to stay open until May, a few stores will begin closing as soon as March. Many people aren’t too thrilled about the news, either. See some of the saddest reactions, realizations and downright resistance against the Payless shutdown below:

R.I.P. Payless — let’s hope your fate is similar to that of Toys R Us: short, brief and back in no time. Unfortunately though, we don’t see this one ending on a similar note. Let us know your thoughts over on Twitter and Facebook!

The 2019 GRAMMY Award ceremony that went down this past weekend is still on the minds of many, mainly due to the Recording Academy righting their wrongs from last year’s near shut-out of acknowledging women with awards.

This year was a complete contrast, with female musicians pretty much dominating in a handful of the main categories — “Best R&B Album,” “Best New Artist,” “Best R&B Song,” “Best Pop Vocal Album” and “Best Rap Album” were awarded to H.E.R., Dua Lipa, Ella Mai, Ariana Grande and Cardi B, respectively. Other categories saw the same trend, including “Best Gospel Album” (Tori Kelly, Hiding Place), “Best Jazz Vocal Album” (Cécile McLorin Salvant, The Window), “Best Latin Pop Album” (Claudia Brant, Sincera) and even “Best Americana Album” (Brandi Carlile, By The Way, I Forgive You ). However, the real shining star of the night ended up being country music sensation Kacey Musgraves, winner of “Best Country Album” and the highly-coveted “Album of the Year” amongst other awards she was nominated for.

2019 GRAMMY host Alicia Keys — celebrated R&B vocalist & 15x winner herself — congratulates Kacey Musgraves while presenting her with the “Album of the Year” award.

While it would be the easy route for us as a leading Hip-Hop publication to lament about why Kendrick Lamar rightfully deserved the win for rapping on, arranging and executive producing the Black Panther soundtrack overall, or even why it should’ve went to a woman of color since H.E.R. and Cardi were nominated as well, the truth is that Kacey really did craft up one outstanding album and rightfully deserved the recognition.

As a special HERSource shoutout to the southern belle with the golden pipes, here’s a track-by-track breakdown of why Kacey Musgraves’ Golden Hour got everything it deserved at the 61st GRAMMY Awards:

MCA Nashville

“Slow Burn”

The album opener really sets up the sound of the album overall — light, easy listening and rooted in southern charm. Kacey’s vocals are light as a feather on the background, but she can definitely add conviction to the song when it calls for it. Anyone who appreciates a slow-paced lifestyle will love this song.

“Lonely Weekend”

Whether you’re happily single or need a tune to belt our your lonesome woes to, this album cut is sure to get you in your feelings. The MCA Nashville songstress sings this tune with all the experience that her 30 years on this Earth have provided, going from crooning about a barely-there lover on the first verse to experiencing serious FOMO by verse two with a transitional ease. Definitely one of the most chill tracks on the whole LP.

“Butterflies”

The song that won her “Best Country Solo Performance” this year as well, “Butterflies” is the quintessential country tune about being caught up in the strings of love with metamorphosis references heard throughout (“I was hiding in doubt ’til you brought me out of my chrysalis / And I came out new all because of you”) to bring the title of the song full-circle.

“Oh, What a World”

It’s the song that inspired her current “world” tour of the same name — for obvious reasons, of course — but in itself track 4 makes for a relatable four-minute audio experience that reflects how we all feel about the sometimes unbelievable occurrences of the planet we live on. It’s an all-around song about loving and celebrating life, which we’re sure she’s reveling in right about now.

“Mother”

Clocking in at barely over a minute, and backed simply by the sound of a piano, “Mother” is one of the core moments on the album where you really get to see Kacey’s personal touches included in the mix. Although the song is a dedication to her own matriarch in specific, Texas-based artist Karen Musgraves, the sincerity in her vocals can be applied to anyone who just misses good ol’ mama.

“Love Is a Wild Thing”

Another song that plays to the roots of country music, “Love Is a Wild Thing” uses all the references in the thesaurus to depict the notion that no one is impervious to love, even if you “try to hide it” as she calmly laments from the beginning.

“Space Cowboy”

Winner of “Best Country Song” — she ended up winning four trophies in total at the awards ceremony — this song isn’t as lighthearted or optimistic as the bulk of the album, but it does hit to the melancholy symphonies that’ve become a staple in the genre of country music. The guitar riffs in the background spell out the grief in perfect totality.

“Happy & Sad”

Ever felt both on the top of the world, but also nervous AF about whether the feeling will ultimately last? Here you go — the perfect song to describe those up & down emo vibes.

“Velvet Elvis”

Every album has a bit of a low point, or at the very least a song that isn’t as strong as the others in the set. “Velvet Elvis” is that for Golden Hour, but it isn’t bad enough to completely stop listening or even skip. It’s just — well, if you’ve heard one love song to Elvis Presley throughout the years, it’s a good chance you’ve pretty much heard ’em all.

“Wonder Woman”

Sometimes being a strong woman includes admitting that you aren’t exactly perfect, which Kacey finds a way to describe on this song with an understanding that comes off very relatable for the listener. We’re sure Gal Gadot would agree, too.

“High Horse”

The most danceable track on the entire album, “High Horse” is Kacey’s attempt at catching crossover appeal that rides the wave between dance-pop, country and funk for sure. Disco diva, ftw!

“Golden Hour”

It’s pretty well-known that the title track has to embody something special. It doesn’t always have to be the best song on the album, but it at the very least has to be the premiere deep cut on the entire project. With “Golden Hour,” Kacey accomplishes that with ease, making a track that’s equal doses of best-beach-day-ever and perfect car music when taking the scenic route.

“Rainbow”

Released just a day before her big night at the GRAMMYs, the video for “Rainbow” and the song itself is a perfect reflection of why Golden Hour is so revered: the Texas-bred songstress finds an emotional lane to tackle that literally anyone can relate to because, well, we all go through rough patches in life. Overall, it’s songs like “Rainbow” that remind us that life will always shine a light towards better days, where even a sweet-voiced girl from a town of less than 200 can drop the most celebrated album of the year.

Hip Hop and women were the trending topics at the 2019 Grammys.

Female acts took home the top prizes including, Album of the Year and Best New Artist. Aside from Cardi B making history as the first solo female act to win Best Rap Album, Childish Gambino made history winning Grammys for Record and Song of the Year for “This Is America.”

Gambino’s historic win comes decades after rappers struggled for the top categories or to even get acknowledged.

Ludwig Goransson, who co-wrote and produced Gambino’s song, said he was surprised a rap song had never won in the past.

“If you listen to the radio or if just you watch our culture or look at the most downloaded and streamed artists and bought albums, you see what’s at the top and what people listen to and you see what people get inspired by. It’s about time something like this happened,” he said in a recent interview.

Six women were nominated for Best New Artist, and five of the eight album-of-the-year nominees were women, including Brandi Carlile, who described herself as “a kid from the ’90s from Lilith Fair.”

“Those women were just dominating those platforms. They were dominating those arena and amphitheater stages. They were getting record deals. They were becoming record executives themselves,” Carlile said. But watching those gains “backslide for the last 20 years has been heartbreaking.”

The 2019 Grammys definitely aimed for racial and gender diversity this year. Next year will be interesting.

Fresh off the release of her Grammy win for the Best Rap Album, Cardi B announced that she’s linking up with Bruno Mars again to release a new song this Friday.

“Ok so I’m back from retirement to announce I have a brand new song coming out Friday at midnight with @brunomars,” Cardi wrote, referencing her 1-day Instagram retirement.

This isn’t the first time Mars and Bardi joined forces. In 2018, the Bronx rapper joined Bruno on his 24K Magic cut, “Finesse” which they performed together at the 60th Grammy Awards.

Cardi B was originally on the line-up for Brunos’ 24K Magic Tour but had to drop out because of her pregnancy. It looks like she plans to make it up to her fans starting on Friday.

Fresh off the heels of their respective relationships, Soulja Boy and Blac Chyna have been secretly dating, as per TMZ.

Sources say it went down in the DM about a week ago, and the rumored couple hit it off.

They allegedly met up together at Sean Kingston’s L.A. Penthouse party and were spotted at a handful of a post-Grammy party together.

Following some reports of domestic violence in her most recent relationship with Kid Buu, it doesn’t seem like Blac Chyna is letting that rain on her parade. Soulja and Chyna have been photographed looking real cozy with each other, but neither of them has made it Instagram official yet.

Chyna claims her ex-boyfriend Kid Buu assaulted her while they were on a baecation in Honolulu, Hawaii last month. Their verbal argument turned physical and Buu reportedly slammed the social influencer against a wall and choked her.

Soulja was accused of assault himself recently by a woman named Kayla who alleges that he kidnapped her and beat her in his Los Angeles home.

Sounds like a match made in heaven.

420 friendly politicians are known to be supported by the new generation of voters.

So, in a recent interview on The Breakfast Club, presidential contender Kamala Harris admitted that she smoked weed during her college years and even listened to rappers like Tupac and Snoop while she got her study on.

Now, that may sound far-fetched, especially since Pac and Snoop came out on the 90s and Harris graduated from law school in California in 1989.

Harris, an Oakland-born woman with West Indian roots, stated her support for marijuana legalization during her interview and even joked with Charlamagne that she hit the joint in college.

As the former attorney of California, Harris’ views on the legalization of marijuana have slowly altered since her vocal opposition in 2010. Five years and many studies and nationwide discussions later, Harris changed her position to one of support for medical use.

We need to legalize marijuana and regulate it, and we need to expunge nonviolent marijuana-related offenses from the records of millions of people who have been arrested and incarcerated so they can get on with their lives.”

A Black female judge in Texas who was part of the historic wave of Black women candidates who swept into office last year has died.

Cassandra Hollemon, 57, succumbed to an unspecified illness on Monday, the Houston Chronicle reported. She was one of 17 Black women in the Black Girl Magic group of candidates who won seats in Harris County courtrooms in 2018.

Hollemon, who practiced criminal law for more than two decades, was assigned to the Harris County Criminal Court of Law 12. She came to the bench focused on doing her part to reform the criminal justice system in Texas’ largest county, which includes Houston.

While Black women candidates made history at the congressional level, they also made impressive gains at state and local levels. In Harris County, Democrats unseated more than 50 incumbent Republican judges in November. That wave included the 17 Black women judges who were part of the so-called Black Girl Magic campaign, which was coined by the county’s Democratic Party after the candidates won their primary election.

Hollemon leaves behind a son, a daughter, and a granddaughter. Her funeral is scheduled for Saturday.

Wendy Williams has been a fixture of daytime television for a decade and her absence is felt by her loyal audience as she is not there to deliver “Hot Topics” and the content that has made her a household name. The star host is currently recovering from Graves disease and states she is looking forward to a return to her proper place, the purple chair of The Wendy Williams Show.

While Williams has been out, she has been supported by Nick Cannon and Jason Biggs in guest hosting duties. A source disclosed to Hollywood Life, Williams is looking forward to her return in the future.

“Wendy is confident that she is irreplaceable on her own show, no one can do what she does as well. While Wendy still has no timetable as to when she will return, she is excited and looking forward to returning as soon as possible,” the source stated.

“Wendy is grateful for her guest hosts, who have been filling in while she has been out, and thinks they are doing a great job. She is also happy, healing and excited to get back to work. She can’t wait to get back to her show and deliver like only she can for her fans.”

The source would go on to shoot down any rumors of Williams being replaced, amongst the additional details that have been swirling regarding the talk show star.

As for those who have been rumored to fill in permanently, such as Cannon, the source also shot that down and stated he is headed for a late night series with FOX. Today’s host on The Wendy Williams Show was Sherrie Sheppard.

Well wishes go out to Wendy Williams on her recover and looking forward to her eventual return to television.

In the midst of the recent racially charged withdrawals in the fashion industry, singer Katy Perry has only added fuel to the racist fire with her new shoe line, but the collection has already been pulled from stores indefinitely.

The singer’s line of sandal and loafers were pulled from stores including Walmart after critics argued against its similarity to Blackface characters. The black shoes are the image of a face with large lips near the front of the shoes.

It comes only a week after Gucci withdrew a black polo-necked jumper featuring red lips that were designed to be worn over the face and Prada showed an image of a small figurine that looked like a Sambo character that was being sold alongside one of the clothier’s purse lines.

A spokesperson for the Katy Perry Collection said to TMZ, “In order to be respectful and sensitive, the team is in the process of pulling the shoes.”

A since-deleted tweet from BET’s Twitter account referenced Nicki Minaj “being dragged by her lace front” and she has since dropped out from the BET Experience and the award show.

In addition to dragging BET by their lace front, the Queen rapper took aim at Grammys producer, Ken Ehrlich, alleging that he’s the reason she never won a Grammy despite 10 nominations.

“I pissed off the same man Ariana just called out for lying,” Minaj tweeted. “Grammy producer KEN. I was bullied into staying quiet for 7 years out of fear. But I’ll tell my fans the REAL on the next episode of #QueenRadio they deserve the truth. Also, CONGRATS to everyone who won last night.”

Nicki Minaj posted her text message with Lil Wayne and he’s supporting her decision to drop from the show.

BET has since issued an apology saying the tweet was unauthorized and doesn’t reflect the company’s views on Nicki.

Last week the world officially added Ciara’s husband, Russell Wilson, Quarterback for the Seattle Seahawks, to the top of their list of relationship goals after reports surfaced that Wilson gifted Ciara her master recordings. Well, it turns out that that was just a rumor. Over the weekend, Media Take Out reported that Wilson purchased the masters and gave them to her in her name only, a music executive and insider told the blog that Wilson did this in 2017.

Sources close to Russell and Ciara told Complex that this wasn’t true. During a Makers Conference Q&A Ciara revealed that she does, in fact, own her masters and she spoke on why ownership is so important.

“Being able to own my masters has been really cool. When I see opportunities come  I’m like yes I want that,” Ciara said. “To have that freedom and flexibility has been amazing.”

She also announced that she launched her own record label, Beauty Marks Entertainment which blends music, film, fashion technology, and philanthropy.

Recently Ciara has been teasing us with sultry photos on the internet letting us know that she will be dropping a new single which is produced under BME, “Greatest Love” on February 12.

Cardi B deactivated her Instagram account again.

After venting to her millions of followers about how hard she worked for her Best Rap Album Grammy award for Invasion of Privacy, she deactivated her account on Monday evening. She didn’t give much explanation about her sudden departure, but it’s safe to say that all of the negative comments were taking a toll on her mental and emotional state.

In a since-deleted post, she explained that it was a difficult process to produce her debut album in the middle of her pregnancy and she still got up 10.

She also thanked J. Cole who congratulated her on her big win and shared his views on the award ceremony as a whole.

“[I] don’t never wanna be propped up by tearing somebody else down,” Cole began in the tweet he posted earlier today. “Seeing Cardi b win a Grammy make me feel like I won. Same with jay rock and Anderson. I feel for Travis cuz he really deserved that acknowledgement as well, but his moment is way bigger than the awards could say.”

We’re sending prayers to our sis Cardi who worked and proved that her reign is legit.

On the hit PE song, “Terminator X to the Edge of Panic,” Chuck D barks the question “Who gives a f*ck about a goddamn Grammy?” And we can play that game if we want to….

You can name all the VMAs, AMAs, BET Awards (both the Hip-Hop one or the main one), Billboards and those other shows, but we know which trophy everyone really wants: The golden Grammophone.

Aside from The Source Award (and for that you can hold your horses), The Grammys is the most coveted achievement an artist could ever aspire to claim.

And the 61st Annual Grammy Awards show showed the music loving public, why we give a f*ck.  First because of the diversity that the show (with some pushing) has finally embraced. But secondly, because Hip-Hop and R&B  seemed to paint the predominate complexion of the show. One highlight was Bronx’s darling taking centerstage with a heart stopping performance. Nah… not J. Lo.

Cardi B rocked her performance of her chart topping single, “Money” and basically showed the world that her reign as the Queen of Hip-Hop is legit. While that could have been enough for Bardi Gang, The Grammys honored Kulture’s mom with one of the highest awards for rap music.

Cardi B won Best Rap Album, Invasion of Privacy.

As she accepted her award she started her emotional speech with a huge “Whew, chile….” trembling with joy. What made the most impact was that she stepped to the stage with her husband Offset beside her.

She should have been shaking. No woman had ever accomplished this in history.  Cardi is now the first solo female rap artist to win Best Rap Album. Lauryn Hill became the first female artist to win this award, but her win was with The Fugees, not as a solo artist.

Grammy-nominated artist, Cardi B turned heads when she appeared on the red carpet with her jaw-dropping vintage 1995 Thierry Mugler ensemble.

Aside from her dress, one notable thing about her entrance was that her husband, Offset, was right by her side. The “Money” rapper said she was working on her marriage for the new year in a recent interview after announcing on Instagram that they were getting a divorce.

The couple shared a wet kiss on the red carpet which was caught all on camera.

Additionally, she gave him a shoutout during her performance when she sang the line on “I like my n*ggas dark like D’usse” from “Money.”

From the looks of it, they’re about to go work on baby No. 2 after the ceremony.

Tonight the biggest night in music is going down and it started off with a pleasant surprise.

Our forever First Lady Michelle Obama took the stage alongside Alicia Keys, Lady Gaga, and Jennifer Lopez.

She took a break from her book tour to grace the Grammys stage and talk about the importance of music in her life.

“From the Motown records I wore out on the South Side to the ‘Who Run the World’ songs that fueled me through this last decade, music has always helped me tell my story, and I know that’s true for everybody here,” Obama said.

She continued: “Whether we like country or rap or rock, music helps us share ourselves, our dignity and sorrows, our hopes and joys. It allows us to hear one another, to invite each other in. Music shows us that all of it matters — every story within every voice, every note within every song. Is that right ladies?”

Keys took a minute to soak in the moment and asked, “Who run the world?”
