On Wednesday, global fitness lifestyle brand Reebok joined forces with international rapper and brand partner Lil Yachty to host an unforgettable fashion and music experience celebrating the iconic Reebok Workout Plus sneaker and Reebok’s ‘Always Classic’ campaign. The evening was a living representation of the eclectic culture upon which the Reebok Workout Plus was built, and featured a look into Reebok’s storied brand archive, a live musical performance by Lil Yachty, a dance performance by Meechie and Toosi and a fashion presentation curated by stylist Rox Brown.

Known for his unique style sensibilities and his ability to draw inspiration from the past to remix daring and bold looks for the present day, Lil Yachty brought to life the Workout’s versatility by fusing music, attitude and style.

Held at Manhattan’s Classic Car Club, guests were treated to an experiential journey through the Workout Plus’ unique heritage. Lil Yachty joined his stylist, Rox Brown, and members of his ‘Sailing Team,’ JBans2Turnt and Kodie Shane, for a deeper look into what goes into their unique style choices. Rox demonstrated how to pair nostalgic style staples with the Workout, creating head-to-toe looks that stand out in today’s fashion landscape.

Some of the other notables in attendance were female rap queen Remy Ma, Power actor Rotimi and Luka Sabbat of Grown-ish.

Chinese sportswear brand Li-Ning (who recently signed Portland Trailblazer CJ McCollum) is embracing a new “futuristic sneakers hall of fame” aesthetic amids a brand face-lift. The brand is one of China’s leading local sportswear marketers and it recently revamped it’s brand by designing a new logo and slogan, to better compete with rivals Nike and Adidas both within China and as the Chinese brand expands internationally.

“Make the Change” is Li Ning’s new brand motto, which encourages consumers to embrace change and make breakthroughs.

The new logo, meanwhile, includes a subtle outline of the “Li Ning Cross” gymnastic posture, while preserving some elements of the old logo, which loosely depict the founder’s initials, L and N. It also resembles the Chinese character “ren,” which means people. The logo, says Li Ning, “conveys a tough, motion- and energy-rich silhouette.”

Within China, Li Ning is competing with foreign sportswear brands like Nike, Adidas, Converse, Puma and Reebok for the same young target market that sets trends and seeks out hip, often Western, brands. Li Ning and other local brands like Anta have struggled to appeal to Chinese trendsetters, particularly as western companies get better at penetrating Chinese culture. Li Ning’s previous slogan and original logo will not disappear altogether, but the company hopes the new image will have more appeal to young consumers.

The company has received many criticism over the years about how their slogan “Anything Is Possible” resembles Adidas’ “Impossible Is Nothing”.

Courtesy of Instagram account @sneakerhighway23, the metallic silver shoe, boasting a sock-like collar, midfoot strap, and chunky sole. It has an appeal of a space shoe that could be a part of your daily closet of sauce-out fits.

Other than getting a public face-lift Li Ning is also upgrading its sports events planning, distribution, and product development and design.

Along with the new logo and slogan introduced this week in Beijing, the company launched an “Athletic Pro” line of high-end sports equipment for professional athletes, an “Urban Sports” range, an all-orange “Brand Heritage” collection, and a “Crossover” collection created through a collaboration between Chinese and foreign designers.

It is an understatement to say Foreign high-end streetwear and sport brands still look upto America when it comes to setting trends and getting their gear on coolest kids on the block everywhere. But this is hardly the first time a brand has caught heat under the radar. UK-based brands like C2H4 and Cottweiler also could be looked at as the new futuristic fashion beasts celebrities like Jaden Smith have been seen co-signing lately.

Level up on your fashion game and hit the streets with these sneakers that are equal parts cool and geeky. NBA star Paul George has announced his collaboration between the gaming brand and Nike: the ‘PG-2 PlayStation’ colorway.

In a post on the Sony PlayStation blog, George mused about the opportunity, saying, “Just like basketball, I’ve had a knack for video games since I was a kid… This collaboration has been a long time coming.”

“Ask me what my favorite PlayStation memory is and I’ll tell you it’s when my dad got me a PS2 for Christmas. I’d been dropping hints left and right because I knew that was it. That was the next big thing.”

Created by Nike designer Tony Hardman, the shoes are inspired by the PlayStation’s DualShock 4 controller and pay homage to some of the PlayStation’s iconic symbols.

Mirroring what it would look like to switch on the console, the shoe’s tongues—which feature the Paul George and PlayStation logos—light up and pulsate in blue. The lights don’t require charging; they’re battery-powered and will run for roughly 150 hours.

The back of the left shoe contains a unique barcode that holds a PSN voucher code, which can be unlocked at the PlayStation Store to redeem a ‘Paul George Dynamic’ PS4 theme.

Reebok just revealed their Always Classic campaign in honor of their Spring/Summer 2018 collection.

Reebok’s widespread unveiling caters to the brand’s Franchise Four collective styles which include the Freestyle Hi, Classic Leather, Club C and Workout Plus. To represent the quintessential essence of these particular silouhettes, Reebok united audacious style icons Lil Yachty, Rae Sremmurd, Teyana Taylor, Ariana Grande and GiGi Hadid to pioneer the campaign movement at it’s core of encouraging self expression and embracing nonconformity.

Earlier this week we were given a first look the impending Dragon Ball Z x adidas collaboration with the Cell and Frieza-inspired silhouettes. The two aforementioned models are rumored to be part of a seven sneaker capsule colection, each representing one of the Dragon Balls.

Now a new image has surfaced, this time showcasing the adidas Kamanda decked out to represent the villainous Majin Buu. The Kamanda is crafted from mostly suede and rubber and features hits of Majin Buu’s pink, purple and yellow colors on the upper body.

According to sources the Dragon Ball Z x adidas collaboration is slated for a Fall 2018 release. It is also believed a shoe for the characters Mr. Popo, Yajirobe, Tenshinhan and Mr. Satan are also in the works. Stay tuned for more info on this collab.

John Wall is bringing his talents back to Adidas.

According to Shams Charania from Yahoo Sports, Wall has inked a new five-year endorsement deal with Adidas, a company that he has some history with. In fact, Wall had a former endorsement deal in place with the athletic wear and sneaker giant but decided not to renew his old deal when it expired in 2015.

Wall had been in talks with multiple brands over that period but eventually returned to Adidas, where the brand already launched two signature shoes under Wall’s name. His previous deal expired in Sept. 2015 after the J Wall 2 launched. The All-Star point guard never re-signed despite having a third signature shoe in the works.

Wall Was Playing Hard Ball Because Of James Harden

Wall wanted more money to re-sign with the brand. In 2015, Adidas signed James Harden to a 13-year, $200 million deal. Wall was offered an eight-year, $66 million extension in 2015 according to ESPN’s Nick DePaula and turned it down with the belief that his value was closer to what Harden’s was.

Back in 2015, Wall was the better player. Today, that isn’t the case anymore. Wall is still a top class point guard and maybe going back to Adidas is the motivation Wall will need to take his talents to an MVP level.

Gatorade partnered up with Jordan Brand for a special edition “Like Mike” collection in honor of Michael Jordan’s classic 1991 ad complete with a number of different Air Jordan silhouettes.

The green suede “Gatorade” Air Joran 6 NRG is officially set to release, in limited quantities today for the retail price of $225. The official colorway is listed as “Pine Green/Orange Blaze-Pine Green.”

Similar to the white/orange “Gatorade” Air Jordan 6 that dropped on December 16th, the green rendition features special edition packaging, Gatorade-inspired lace locks and insoles, and “If I Could Be” text stitched on inside of the tongue. The kicks will release alongside a line of matching “Like Mike” apparel as well. Take a look below.

Air Jordans aren’t selling out as quickly as they did just a couple of years ago, with Jordan Brand upping the number of pairs it produces to grow revenue. Nike Inc believes they may need to dial back production or switch their game plan up to make Js great again.

During Nike’s Q2 earnings call on Thursday, president Trevor Edwards spoke about how the demand for Air Jordans has fallen and how sales did not quite meet expectations in the second quarter of Nike Inc.’s fiscal year.

This means it’ll once again be difficult (remains to be seen just how difficult) to cop retros in 2018 and they’ll most likely stop hitting the discount racks.

Jordan Brand’s plans for 2018 reportedly include as many as 30 different classic and original Air Jordan 1 colorways, as well as a handful of Air Jordan 3s including the beloved “Black Cement” and the “Katrina” colorway which has never released.

Maybe if Air Jordans didn’t release sneakers every week, the brand wouldn’t be force to feel this way.

The Jordan brand and Foot Locker have collaborated and announced a sneaker for a holiday campaign featuring the NBA San Antonio Spurs player Kawhi Leonard. For the upcoming Gatorade and Air Jordan sneaks, Leonard is joined with his teammate Aldridge and West Coast rapper, Nipsey Hussle. It opens with Leonard being in the locker room unwrapping a gift from his teammate, Aldridge, and inside it’s the orange Gatorade shoes. He then does karate, drives a low-rider, parties a nightclub with Les Twins, in the studio with Hussle and finally brings it to social media.

Nipsey recently released his new album, Victory Lap, which will release February 16, 2018, the same day as NBA All-Star Weekend! He made the announcement from his All Money label that partners with Atlantic Records. The album cover features him in the driver seat at nighttime while raising his arm up. The new and first single, “Rap N*****”, was released the day he announced his album along with the video.

Today, Foot Locker and the Jordan brand launch their holiday campaign featuring NBA star Kawhi Leonard in a spot entitled “Bold Like Kawhi.” Although we know Kawhi to be quite the risk taker on the court, this new visual ad shows Kawhi much differently than we’re used to – as an invigorating dare devil off the court.

The “Bold Like Kawhi” spot comedically narrates a very spontaneous day-in-the-life of Kawhi after he was unexpectedly gifted Air Jordan 1 OG High Gatorade sneakers from his teammate LaMarcus Aldridge. 

Shortly after putting on his new kicks, Kawhi hits the studio with Nipsey Hussle as he is recording his newly released single ‘Rap Niggaz.’ In addition, Kawhi attends an auction, attends a black belt karate class, drives a low-rider and party’s with the Les Twins. all while recording his every move on social media for the world to see. Fast forward to game day and Kawhi finds himself in front of reporters who ask, “Any comment about your day yesterday?”

Kawhi responds, “I was hacked.”

The new Gatorade Air Jordan 1’s launch in four bold ‘flavorways’— Orange, Lemon Lime, Grape, and Blue Cherry on December 26. The Air Jordan Gatorade VI will be released four days later on December 30.

In regards to his new national commercial/acting debut Kawhi stated:

“I had a ton of fun partnering with Foot Locker and Jordan Brand to show off another side of my personality that most fans don’t get to see every day. Being part of a holiday campaign that pays homage to the original ‘Be Like Mike’ Gatorade ad is really special.”

‘Bold Like Kawhi’ will debut on ESPN during the NBA Christmas Day games. You can watch it below now.

Joey Bada$$ is bringing the classic shoe to the forefront.

Earlier this year, Brooklyn rapper Joey Bada$$ teamed up with sneaker brand Product of New York (PONY) for their fall 2017 relaunch their signature shoe, ‘Topstar.’ Now, Joey Bada$$ has been appointed the creative director of PONY, and released his debut capsule collection with the brand.

“Being crowned the first Creative Director of PONY…it feels amazing to receive that title with a brand that is in sync with who you are.” Joey stated. “It’s pure synergy. This is some classic, authentic, vibe: that’s how I feel. I am a ‘Product of New York’ and I plan to keep bringing my inspirations and background to PONY naturally.”

Joey Bada$$ worked closely with the PONY team to concept, design, and style the four-piece collection, adding a touch of ‘Pro Era’  to the classic PONY chevron. Available now, the ‘Pro Era’ capsule contains premium suede sneakers in red, green and yellow colorways. Available in February 2018, the ‘Bada$$ model’ is an additional sneaker in a rich Burgundy colorway. You can purchase the ‘Pro Era’ collection which retails for $75 at urbandoutfitters.com and pony.com.

As the saying goes, “If you want something bad enough, go out and get it.” Well, two unidentified individuals took this literally, as they stole almost $8,000 worth of Air Jordan 11s from a Niketown store in New York.

According to the New York Post, on Monday, December 4, the two men entered the Niketown store on East 57th Street between Madison and Fifth avenue, and grabbed a carton of the yet-to-be-released Air Jordan XIs. The store was incidentally left unlocked after business hours when the thieves pulled off their robbery around 10 P.M.

A Nike representative has confirmed that only one carton of the sneakers were taken during the heist, and has since been recovered. Nike will “continue to cooperate with local law enforcement” on the situation. Niketown NYC will be relocating from its 57th Street location to 52nd Street and Fifth Avenue, unrelated to the robbery.

Last month, Future released his first signature sneaker with Reebok – the Furykaze, in a Sandstone colorway. The Furykaze is a nice mix of the Instapump Fury and the Kamikaze II. Reebok has officially released a new colorway for the
sneaker in “Triple Black”. The sneaker will be made available at multiple retailers.

The Scorpion (Future’s astrological sign) inspires the rapper’s signature sneaker. The sneaker’s upper features a suede texture inspired by the hair on a scorpion’s tail, claws and legs, while the molded vamps resemble the ribbed body.
The heel collar also offers the flexibility of a scorpion’s tail, which makes it easy to
wear.

Allen Iverson’s shoe line was resurrected with the release of Reebok Answer 14 in 2014. Since then, there’s only been a release of retro products with alternative color ways of his beloved signature, the Question. AI took to Instagram to drop some good news.

The NBA Hall of Famer shared a series of images of him taking meetings with Reebok officials and designers, including Vice President of Classics and Entertainment Todd Krinsky. Although Iverson didn’t confirm the development of the Answer 15, he caption suggested that a new design team is working on I3 Legacy product, including sneakers. Back in 2001, Iverson signed a ‘lifetime’ deal with the shoe company.

Allen Iverson is expected to make a return to Ice Cube’s Big3 league, so you can probably expect to see him sporting his I3 footwear in 2018.

PUMA introduces its latest collection with Pink Dolphin. It’s their fourth collaboration between the two that introduces a classic beach with classic PUMA silhouettes. By the PUMA Clyde look, Pink Dolphin created two different styles that were motivated by nature. The first pair coincides with a white upper accented by an ocean blue form stripe on where it stayed true to the colors. It also has a light to dark blue striping along the side and back to add detail.

The second pair has a bright coral that emphasizes by a beige cream form stripe. The details that are on the side and back of the shoe go from light coral to shades of blue. The footwear goes along with the apparel that features a long sleeve black tee and three PUMA X Pink Dolphin tees with the colors of light blue and cream. All of the tees have a PUMA and Pink Dolphin standout logo showcasing the West Coast look.

The PUMA X Pink Dolphin Clydes are $100 and the apparel is starting at $40 at select PUMA stores and online in which came out on November 21.

Big Sean and Puma teamed up on Tuesday, Nov. 21, as he surprised local children in his hometown with a special footwear package at Fisher Magnet Upper Academy. As part of Foot Locker’s annual “Week of Greatness” campaign, the Detroit emcee treated each kid to a pair of the exclusive PUMA Clyde Velour. He also squared off 100 pairs of shoes at the PUMA Lab Powered by Foot Locker in support of the Week of Greatness Puerto Rico Hurricane Relief.

For Big Sean’s “Act of Greatness,” the children were chosen from the Sean Anderson foundation for their physical displays of kindness throughout the past year. Sean spoke of the experience saying:

It was really a blessing to meet these kids and put a smile on their faces. I always remember where I came from and really want to give back where and when I can. Detroit is super special to me and I am glad I could work with PUMA and Foot Locker to do something significant.

In 2015, Adidas considered Los Angeles one of the most influential cities around the world as apart of their global business strategy. Now the Germany based brand has announced they will be opening a world class office in Los Angeles at the beginning of 2018.

The sportswear brand has strategically planned to put more emphasis on their North America efforts, sales, and marketing overall. Although they are a considered a successful brand internationally, Adidas has chosen to target the American market specifically in hopes to expand tremendously. America’s major influence on other countries in regards to entertainment, fashion and sports is recognized by the brand. Therefore, they hope that same influence will infiltrate fashion and sports markets around the world to make Adidas the premiere sportswear brand amongst their competitors.

In an interview with CNN, Mark King, the president of Adidas North America, stated:

If we’re going to really be the company we want to be, and really be the brand we want to be, we have to really do better in America.

Adidas’ new world class office will be located in Downtown Los Angeles’ revitalized urban arts district, the ROW DTLA, occupied by retail stores, restaurants, and creative offices. They emphasize that this new office space is a collaboration hub for creatives open to consumers, athletes, and influencers, alike.

The Weeknd announced his partnership with Puma at a Las Vegas Trade Show of releasing a third annual XO Parallel sneaker boot. The line features sports-inspired pieces with a contemporary street look and feel, with oversized garments, cuts and sew pieces. Following up with a pair of an olive green last month, Puma will feature an all-black with Puma and XO branding. Stand out pieces from the collection include the Puma x XO bomber jacket in an all-over camo and all-black nylon patterns. The shoe is all black leather with a bulky midsole and Puma’s logo on the outside sole and has the XO branding on the tongue of the shoe by completing the look.  The kimono jacket will also be a part of this capsule and will release in black and camo canvas iterations. The camo look also extends to accessories with the Puma x XO backpack, beanie and cap. It was inspired by military and utilitarian gear,

The sneaker boot will soon to release on Saturday, November 11 at select Puma stores worldwide and online at a retail price of $220.
