Artists Hank Willis Thomas and Chris Johnson in collaboration with Bayeté Ross Smith and Kamal Sinclair spent several years speaking with 150 Black men living in 12 different American cities and towns. Question Bridge: Black Males an innovative video installation created by the artists from the 1,500 video exchanges in which the men representing a range of geographic, economic, and educational backgrounds, serve as both interviewer and interviewee.
“Their words were woven together to simulate a stream-of-consciousness dialogue, through which important themes and issues emerge, including family, love, interracial relationships, community, education, violence, and the past, present, and future of Black men in American society.”
This exhibition is currently on view at Brooklyn Museum of Art until June 3, 2012. Also you can visit the Question Bridge site for more info.
