Since her introduction into Hip-Hip back in 1989, Queen Latifah has been destined for greatness. Born Dana Elaine Owens, the East Orange, New Jersey-native released her first album All Hail The Queen on Tommy Boy Records. Soon after, Latifah transitioned into Hollywood, launching an acting career in 1993 with her role on the hit TV-series Living Single. Since then, the triple threat (Latifah can rap, act,–and sing) has become one of America’s biggest celebrities, even earning herself an Academy Award nomination for Best Actress in a Supporting Role for Chicago. With major celebrity endorsements for companies like CoverGirl, Jenny Craig and more, Latifah still reps for Hip-Hop, helping the culture infiltrate the mainstream–the right way.
